Overview: The Lead, Social Media Engagement is a dynamic and creative individual responsible for spearheading the development and execution of strategy, ongoing best practices for engagement, and measurement of SHRM&rsquo;s external branded storytelling via social and digital media. As the subject matter expert on use of social media platforms, this role will develop a strategy that aligns with SHRM&rsquo;s audience-centric model and continually enhance SHRM&rsquo;s external presence to best meet audience needs. This position is also responsible for protecting SHRM&rsquo;s name, reputation, and brand on social media platforms, as well as on owned media platforms (such as blogs), with digital influencers, and with bloggers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who uses data and insights to drive an audience-centric social media strategy.<br /><br /> <p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p> <p>Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Serve as the lead of the Social Media function within Marketing, setting strategy, ideating concepts across events, community and trend research, influencer strategy and thought leadership activities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns and ensure brand consistency.</li> <li>Develop, deploy, and manage social and content marketing campaigns that support brand and business initiatives including but not limited to SHRM executives, members, products and events.</li> <li>Mentor a team to create and manage an editorial calendar and deliver on assets used to power a wide range of initiatives including demand generation, nurture, brand awareness, and thought leadership.</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally across audience segment and product teams to gather content for external use that is representative of SHRM&rsquo;s purpose to elevate HR.</li> <li>Provide leadership and guidance in developing and implementing external social media strategies that maximize the potential of platforms, including but not limited to, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. that align with business goals. Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice, and terminology.</li> <li>Oversee the management of SHRM&rsquo;s social media influencer and blogger outreach strategy. Grow SHRM&rsquo;s reputation by cultivating collaborative relationships with social influencers.</li> <li>Monitor social media engagement activities, analyze metrics, and contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.</li> <li>Continually enhance skills related to the use of rapidly changing technology and communications best practices.</li> <li>Other duties and projects as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <div class="job-posting-section"> <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent relevant experience.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least eight (8) years of product, membership and/or solutions digital marketing experience in with at least six (6) years of experience in Social Media Marketing.</li> <li>Experience developing, deploying, and managing social and content marketing campaigns that support brand and business initiatives.</li> <li>Experience with concepting big ideas and bringing them to life across a myriad of digital and social platforms.&nbsp;</li> <li>Mastery of content marketing principles.</li> <li>Experience managing staff, project teams, external vendors/consultants. Experience working with CEOs and top leadership.</li> <li>Executive social media skills.</li> <li>Social media advertising skills.</li> <li>Reporting and measurement.</li> </ul> <br /> <h4><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Ability to direct and manage multiple projects and meeting time sensitive deadlines.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and respond to ongoing requests in a timely fashion.&nbsp;</li> <li>Creative copy writing skills.</li> <li>Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment.</li> <li>Proven ability to collaborate across division to implement processes and achieve results. Track record of building and maintaining productive relationships with multiple stakeholders, including working closely with department heads.</li> <li>Strong problem solving and executive presentation skills.</li> <li>Outstanding communications skills &ndash; written, presentation, verbal.</li> <li>Understanding of online measurement platforms (Sprout Social preferred).</li> <li>Familiarity with video content development and storytelling a plus.</li> <li>Expertise of new and emerging media channels and technology and ability to keep up with changes.</li> <li>Attention to detail; mastery of writing in a pithy manner.</li> <li>Exemplary organizational skills, judgment, ability to balance multiple priorities with attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines.</li> </ul> <h1>&nbsp;</h1> <p><strong>Physical Requirements:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.</li> <li>Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing.
