Overview: The Lead, Publications Producer position is primarily responsible for managing the execution of custom publications and their production visuals for SHRM&rsquo;s print and digital publication portfolios. Additionally, the Lead, Publications Producer will ensure the strategic alignment of photography and illustrations with our internal client objectives in collaboration with the Creative Services staff and Editorial leads. They are responsible for managing the workflow, will be partnering with the Manager, Creative Producer on staffing for all visual content production for executing projects from brief to delivery, and has an inherent knowledge of production workflows and procedures. This high-profile role will act as a coach/player across a team of passionate designers, marketers, and developers using multiple technologies to deliver high-quality projects guided by creative excellence and best practice principles.<br /><br /> <div><strong>Work Environment:</strong></div> <div> <ul> <li>Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.</li> <li>Travel Required: Occasional 0-10%.</li> </ul> </div>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Work closely with the Editorial and Digital teams to clearly communicate project schedules, deliverables, and daily/weekly deadlines.</li> <li>Serve as a client-facing content expert across all projects.</li> <li>Project manage and/or oversee all aspects of photo and illustration production.</li> <li>Oversee the negotiation rates, expectations, and delivery with contracted photographers and illustrators.</li> <li>Ensure accuracy, correctness, and consistency in all communications and documentations.</li> <li>Manage photography and illustration budgets to include securing estimates, confirmation of deliverables, invoice approval, and payment.</li> <li>Partner with the Manager, Creative Producer to assemble creative teams for all types of publication content project work.</li> <li>Documentation of all processes and workflows to ensure seamless onboarding of new team members and freelancers.</li> <li>Other duties and projects as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <div> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree, preferably in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or related field.</li> <li>Over 7 years of progressively extensive experience with print design delivery and with at least 3 years leading print design initiatives or projects.</li> <li>Excellent leadership skills and able to provide managerial oversight over the lifecycle of any publications project both print and digital.</li> <li>Ability to independently manage multiple assigned projects and complete them successfully within project timing, budget, and efficiency.</li> <li>Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite products: Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe InDesign CC, and Adobe Illustrator CC.</li> <li>Strong ability to prioritize projects based on business need and direction from Director, Creative Services and create design concepts efficiently and according to agreed-upon deadlines.</li> <li>Strong communication, collaboration, and active-listening skills for receiving feedback and providing recommendations in a constructive solutions-oriented manner.</li> </ul> </div> <div><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></div> <div> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.</li> <li>Regularly required to sit; talk and hear, use hands to type, file, handle or feel.
