Overview: <h4>The Manager, Foundation Relations is a key member of the SHRM Foundation. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing institutional fundraising from private and corporate foundation sources and securing grants for the organization.<br /><br /></h4> <h4><strong>Work Environment:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.</li> <li>Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.</li> <li>Travel is expected 30-50% of the time.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Oversee the entire grant proposal process, from research and writing to submission and reporting, specifically targeting large private and corporate foundations.</li> <li>Research and identify potential grant opportunities from large corporate foundations and other funding sources aligned with the mission and vision of the SHRM Foundation.&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepare all necessary documentation required by grant applications, including budgets, project plans, and supporting materials while keeping a calendar of grant deadlines and ensuring timely submission of proposals.</li> <li>Write compelling, concise, and tailored grant proposals that effectively communicate our mission, goals, and the impact of our programs.</li> <li>Manage, maintain, and develop the pipeline of foundation prospects and manage convenings from a stewardship and prospecting lens.</li> <li>Stay updated on trends and best practices in grant writing and funding opportunities within the non-profit sector.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Over eight (8) years of sophisticated, seasoned experience in nonprofit fundraising with foundations and corporations.</li> <li>Experience with powerful networks such as SHRM&rsquo;s ecosystem; strong critical thinking skills around the correlation of nonprofit impact initiatives.</li> <li>Strong written communication skills; ability to write well-structured, articulate and persuasive proposals and reports.</li> <li>Strong interest in SHRM Foundation&rsquo;s programmatic mission and commitment to furthering its work.</li> <li>Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple assignments, manage budgets and meet deadlines.</li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of gift processing acknowledgment and stewardship practices.</li> <li>Proficient in Salesforce or comparable donor database.</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <div class="job-posting-section"> <p><em>The hiring range for this position is $108,000 to $130,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
