Overview: <p>SHRM&rsquo;s paid internship program enables students to participate in valuable real-world work experience through various tailored assignments within their areas of interest and fields of study. Students will be tasked with different team-specific projects, and tasks, and participate in professional development projects and events to prepare them for their future careers. This role is responsible for providing research support to SHRM market research teams in the areas of survey research, data analysis, research communication, and data visualization. The intern will be providing support to ongoing research projects. Specific responsibilities may include survey design, survey programming, data analysis, and literature review.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This is a paid internship starting at $20.00/Hour.&nbsp;</p> <p>This is a 10-week summer internship from June 2, 2025 - August 8, 2025.&nbsp;<br /><br /></p> <p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>SHRM does operate under a hybrid work schedule and will require you to be in SHRM&rsquo;s headquarters in Alexandria, VA on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Mondays and Fridays will be working remotely.</li> <li>Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul type="disc"> <li>Program and field surveys, analyze and synthesize data, and produce summary reports.</li> <li>Build sentiment analyses through AI and NLP.</li> <li>Conduct competitive intelligence, environmental scans, and other secondary research.</li> <li>Design and develop dashboards in Tableau or other data visualization programs.</li> <li>Lead cross-functional Interviews of internal stakeholders for project scoping.</li> <li>Collaborate with internal research and analytic resources.</li> <li>Manage project schedules by following specific and well-defined processes and procedures.</li> <li>Analyze and synthesize global market and competitive intelligence information for internal dissemination.</li> <li>Prepare literature searches from academic and business press/consulting sources.</li> <li>Collaborate in research projects and questionnaire design.</li> <li>Carry out division-specific tasks/activities as assigned by the supervisor throughout the internship.</li> <li>Manage deliverables and provide regular updates.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul type="disc"> <li>Currently pursuing a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Industrial Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Sciences, Management, HR, or other related fields.</li> <li>0-3 years of relevant work experience.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Proficiency with IBM SPSS or R including cross tabs, frequencies, correlations, and regressions.</li> <li>Ability to distill large amounts of statistical and quantitative data into actionable recommendations.</li> <li>Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills.</li> <li>Ability to consolidate data findings into concise, actionable, and easy-to-understand formats.</li> <li>Comfortable working in a high-paced, demanding environment.</li> <li>High levels of commitment and initiative.</li> <li>Ability to successfully work in a team.</li> <li>Ability and willingness to follow directions.</li> <li>Professional demeanor.</li> <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.</li> <li>Expert proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook.</li> <li>Understanding of current and emerging data analytics tools.</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.</li> <li>Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing.
