Overview: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of the supply chain function, including scheduling, inventory management, materials planning, logistics, and supplier coordination. This position ensures that materials and products are available as needed, cost-effective, and delivered on time to support production and customer requirements. Based in Salt Lake City, this role is integral to maintaining strong operational performance and cost efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities: Supervisory Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and training team members, as well as organizing, assigning, and overseeing daily operations. Also accountable for evaluating employee performance, administering recognition and corrective actions, and managing concerns or conflicts that arise.</li> <li>Ensures leadership practices comply with company policies and applicable legal requirements.</li> <li>Continuously reviews departmental operations to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.</li> <li>Provides clear direction and leadership to ensure team members meet expectations, complete projects, and achieve deadlines.</li> <li>Establishes work procedures, creates schedules, and supports workflow by providing both verbal and written instructions.</li> <li>Collaborates with direct reports to set annual performance goals and tracks their progress, offering feedback and support for ongoing development.</li> </ul> <br />Operations:<br /> <ul> <li>Develop and manage short- and long-range inventory strategies for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to support business goals.</li> <li>Lead cycle count and physical inventory processes to maintain accuracy and meet audit standards.</li> <li>Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production scheduling, planning and material scheduling.</li> <li>Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement and transportation of goods.</li> <li>Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain operations with production schedules and customer requirements.</li> <li>Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure material availability and manage lead times.</li> <li>Drive down days inventory on hand (DIOH), vendor vetting/ auditing and managing company's commodities</li> <li>Drive cost-saving initiatives through process improvement, inventory control, and vendor negotiations.</li> <li>Implement systems and procedures to ensure inventory integrity across all storage locations.</li> <li>Monitor material flow and address constraints through sustainable corrective actions.</li> <li>Analyze inventory trends and report key metrics to leadership.</li> <li>Lead, coach, and mentor the materials planning team.</li> <li>Develop departmental training resources and maintain SOPs.</li> <li>Oversee new product introduction planning and support engineering changes.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.</li> <li>Interface with internal stakeholders to maintain high levels of service.</li> <li>All other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <br />Safety:<br /> <ul> <li>Comply with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.</li> <li>Prompt reporting of any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision. Resolving potential hazards swiftly, thereby ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.</li> <li>Attend scheduled EHS trainings.</li> <li>Actively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals. Identify areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommend enhancements to contribute to our commitment to a safe work environment.</li> <li>Demonstrates safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.</li> <li>Ensures that all fall protection procedures are strictly adhered to including but not limited to the use of harness, platform ladders, railing, lifts.</li> <li>Ensures strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience in manufacturing environment. Preferred: Bachelor of Science Degree, preferably in an engineering discipline, such as Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of three years of experience in supply chain or materials management</li> <li>Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license</li> <li>Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening</li> <li>Strong understanding of inventory control systems and MRP/ERP software</li> <li>Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Strong analytical skills with attention to detail</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.</li> <li>Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments and functions</li> </ul> <br />Travel Requirements<br /> <ul> <li>Occasional travel may be required, less than 10%</li> </ul> <br />Physical Responsibilities &amp; Work Environment<br /> <ul> <li>Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods</li> <li>Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.</li> <li>The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a manufacturing production environment.</li> <li>May require lifting up to 25 lbs. occasionally</li> <li>Regular use of computers and office equipment</li> <li>Work is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional visits to warehouse or production areas</li> </ul>
