Overview: We are searching for a talented Design Engineer at our Mankato, MN facility to support engineering and design of our Aviation door systems. You will collaborate closely with our Project Managers, Sales, Operations and Engineering teams to develop door solutions for our customers as well as fabrication drawings for production, utilizing SolidWorks 3D CAD software.&nbsp; Projects may range from utilizing standard design templates to crafting custom solutions tailored to meet unique customer requirements.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Create product models using SolidWorks 3D CAD software, utilizing standard templates, historical models, or creating solutions from the ground up.</li> <li>Prepare submittal drawings packages for customer approval.</li> <li>Generate production drawing packages for fabrication.</li> <li>Process engineering change order requests.</li> <li>Conduct engineering analysis of designs to ensure compliance with design criteria (including wind-loads, mechanical and structural requirements).</li> <li>Provide engineering support to operations during the manufacturing of the product.</li> <li>Provide engineering support to the Sales Team and customers.</li> <li>Perform daily inspections of products in fabrication.</li> <li>Create support documentation including specifications, product data sheets, and installation and operation instructions.</li> <li>Review sales orders, architectural drawings, structural drawings, and specifications to determine product requirements.</li> <li>Support R&amp;D and product development initiatives.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Engineering; preferably Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or related Mechatronics fields. &nbsp;An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.</li> <li>Preferred 5+ years of engineering and design experience.</li> <li>Strong communication skills (verbal and written).</li> <li>Experience in providing engineering analysis and reports.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving and technical skills.</li> <li>Mathematical aptitude.</li> <li>Able to effectively locate, communicate, and document information.</li> <li>Proficiency in 3D Parametric software (SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO,).</li> </ul> <br /><strong><br />Additional Skills/Attributes:<br /></strong> <ul> <li>Ability to prioritize tasks and manage expectations.</li> <li>Capacity to work independently.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and ability to take responsibility for multiple projects to achieve goals and meet deadlines.</li> <li>Electrical experience is a plus.</li> <li>Willingness to travel to project or test sites as necessary (2-5 domestic field visits per year).</li> </ul>
