Overview: <p>We are looking for a highly-motivated, self-starting dealmaker with top level analytical, quantitative and communications skills. (S)he will also have had experience buying and selling companies, including deal structuring, and will have been involved with debt and equity components. On the buy-side, this individual will have or will establish new relationships with key sources of proprietary deal flow which meet SGH&rsquo;s investment objectives. On the sell-side, this individual will work tenaciously behind the scenes to ensure that all the details - financials, marketing presentations, etc. are buttoned-up to effectively go-to-market.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Drive strategic fundraising activities for SGH Equity Fund 2, promoting optimal Limited Partner (&ldquo;LP&rdquo;) mix to support the fund&rsquo;s target size and investment objectives.</li> <li>Chair and maximize results from weekly Investment Committee meetings, attended by Chairman, Senior Managing Partner and other SGH members.</li> <li>Own and manage the screening and due diligence process for prospective investments, including track records, markets, financials, and business plans.</li> <li>Build and leverage existing relationships with investment bankers, consultants, and prospective entrepreneurial company CEOs.</li> <li>Negotiate new deals, in tandem with or in lieu of Chairman and Sr. Managing Partner.</li> <li>Develop, independently or with analyst help, advanced Excel models to evaluate investment results.</li> <li>Develop the annual fund strategy as set by the Sr. Managing Partner and Chairman, as well as provide regular performance updates.</li> <li>Partner with financial team on fund and deal room documentation.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>10+ years of progressive, service-side transactional experience. Majority or all of that experience in Private Equity is strongly preferred.</li> <li>10+ years experience being a part of the deal team. 5+ years experience leading deals strongly preferred.&nbsp;</li> <li>Well-developed business acumen and professional skepticism coupled with the ability to &ldquo;size-up&rdquo; situations.</li> <li>A demonstrated execution mindset and strong project management skills.</li> <li>Superior ability to influence and communicate with strong internal and external leaders.</li> <li>Active rolodex of potential debt and equity partners.</li> <li>Proven experience in transactional lifecycle, including thesis development, sourcing, due diligence, transaction lead, execution of investment, exit, and portfolio execution, including board membership, add-on acquisition development, and execution, monitoring / evaluating the investment, fund support, etc. strongly preferred.</li> <li>A proven record of operational achievement at companies greater than $10mm in revenues and success working at entrepreneurial organizations strongly preferred.</li> <li>Experience working with a dynamic, demanding, and highly ambitious Chairman / CEO strongly preferred.</li> <li>Technology savvy with good knowledge of next-generation business systems strongly preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education / Other</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required. Finance or Business majors preferred.</li> <li>MBA strongly preferred.
