Overview: <p>Reporting to the Manager, the <strong>Settlements Coordinator</strong> is part of the settlements team supporting daily trade settlement and disbursement of funds. Activities processes associated with electronic share issuance and transfer, trading of stock position, money movement and foreign exchange, investigation/reprocessing of failed transactions and reconciliation of data. You will be in regular contact with internal customer services teams as well as external brokers/transfer agents/trustees.<br /><br />This is an excellent opportunity to lay the foundation for a solid understanding of Equity Plan Administration, Trade Execution/Management, Money Movement Compliance and Brokerage Settlements.<strong><br /><br />Solium is a fast growing Company where every member of our team is integral to our success. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Completion of daily processes related to money movement, FX transactions and international share movements</li> <li>Coordinating with transfer agents, broker partners and other involved parties</li> <li>Investigating problem/rejected transactions, as they relate to cash and share disbursements</li> <li>Investigating and following up on unsettled trades with all involved parties</li> <li>Trading processes, including buying and selling shares via third party broker partners</li> <li>Following established rules that support compliance and audit processes and escalating issues to manager</li> <li>Assist in developing training guides and documentation of changing operational processes</li> <li>Testing, logging issues and following up on resolved issues to ensure they have been completed correctly</li> <li>Mentoring and sharing knowledge, best practices and industry expertise with team members to continuously enhance Shareworks processes and tools</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Post-secondary diploma or degree is strongly preferred</li> <li>3+ years&rsquo; work experience in settlements, securities or brokerage environments is preferred</li> <li>Prior experience in a brokerage, banking or transfer agent back-office environment would be a definite asset</li> <li>Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills are required</li> <li>Proven accuracy and attention to detail</li> <li>Demonstrated success with explaining complex issues or topics to new team members &amp; customers</li> <li>Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving environment which includes ongoing learning and training</li> </ul> <br />While we thank all applicants for their interest, please note that only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
