Overview: This new role is integral to the success of the company and to the day-to-day functioning of both the production facility and as technical support to the Agents and customers. This company has differentiated itself by providing an innovative range of lighting fixtures; most if not all are custom engineered and meet the demand of architectural specifications &ndash; working through the agents. The Electrical Engineering Specialist ensures that all aspects of the lighting layouts, simulations of fixtures to determine lumen levels, energy usages, and wattage use.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Work with the Agents and the appropriate team members to develop lighting drawings for custom products as created by the agent&rsquo;s clients.</li> <li>Works closely with the President and the appropriate Plant personnel to ensure production capabilities are implemented for the 3 new machines including programming and training.</li> <li>Be aware of regulatory requirements for CSA/UL certifications.</li> <li>Working with the President and the appropriate plant personnel; ensure that the LED production capabilities are realized.</li> <li>Ensure timely and accurate lumen analysis as required.</li> <li>Develops and maintains accurate and effective lighting layouts.</li> <li>Trouble shoots issues around product glitches of lighting products in the field.</li> <li>Liaise with Agents and customers as required.</li> <li>Produce timely lighting layouts to meet agent and customer light level requirements.</li> <li>Produce energy use drawings and provides accurate wattage use calculations as necessary.</li> <li>Design and modify 3D drawings in Solidworks</li> <li>Create IES files via software simulation</li> <li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software</li> <li>Understanding of lighting control systems, such as DMX, Dali, and 0-10.</li> <li>Familiar with UL/CSA standards</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Holds a recognized degree or diploma in electrical engineering.</li> <li>Strong documentation and drawing computer skills. Solid understanding of lighting and electrical issues.</li> <li>Demonstrated mastery of design tools.</li> <li>A passion for all aspects of the lighting fixture production process.</li> <li>The ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with all members of the team and all external resources</li> <li>Excellent computer skills and proficient in drawing computer programs.</li> <li>5-6 years applicable Lighting Industry experience</li> <li>** Must have direct lighting product design experience to be considered&nbsp;</li> </ul>
