Overview: <p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p> <p>The Senior Medical Science Liaison, US Field Medical (hereafter Sr. MSL) will be responsible for managing a defined territory for Nirogacestat.&nbsp; This entails establishing and maintaining key scientific relationships with KOLs within their territory and serving as a scientific expert to the medical community and facilitating the appropriate exchange of scientific information.&nbsp;</p> <p>Key expectations include the Sr. MSL being able to develop and maintain an advanced scientific, medical, and product knowledge base, ability to communicate key insights learned, and disseminate critical scientific data to external stakeholders; including but not limited to academic/scientific/clinical experts, payers, and patient organizations.</p> <p>The Sr. MSL will be responsible for ensuring timely and appropriate input on the field medical engagement plans in support of our clinical development and commercialization programs and activities.&nbsp; In addition, the Sr. MSL will assist, lead, and drive the support of the company&rsquo;s clinical trials in partnership with the clinical development team and with researchers as appropriate.</p> <p>The Sr. MSL will be expected to master the MSL responsibilities and be able to take on additional leadership roles on projects and initiatives that increase the value and productivity of the MSL team and Medical Affairs.&nbsp; The Sr. MSL will be expected to work independently with little direction/oversight, be accountable, and assist the Senior Field Medical Director as needed.</p> <p><strong>Territory includes:</strong></p> <p>WI, MI, IL, IN, MN, IA, NE, KY &amp; OH</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and establish and maintain strong and deep scientific relationships with KOLs across multi-specialty disciplines, connecting to KOLs in academic centers and community practices at the local, regional, and national level.</li> <li>Serve as a scientific expert to the medical community and facilitate the appropriate exchange of scientific information.</li> <li>Communicate experts&rsquo; opinion and feedback on new data and clinical trends&nbsp;to Medical&nbsp;Affairs and&nbsp;translate this information into strategic recommendations to enhance science and advance patient care.</li> <li>Act as primary liaison to investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research.</li> <li>Collaborate with the Clinical Operations organization to enhance patient enrollment in company-sponsored clinical trials by identifying appropriate clinical trial sites, supporting clinical trial awareness,&nbsp;and interacting with investigators in ongoing studies.</li> <li>Serve as medical lead and provide scientific support at medical congresses, staff disease state booths, participate and lead clinical support, and facilitate medical discussions at advisory boards and scientific/medical advisory faculty programs.</li> <li>Lead committee/project teams which support MSL strategies as delegated by MSL leadership.</li> <li>Be familiar with US pharma rules and regulations, particularly as they apply to MSL activities.</li> <li>Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions (as appropriate) in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings.</li> <li>Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with&nbsp;local,&nbsp;regional, and&nbsp;national strategy.</li> <li>Develop and maintain strong and deep relationships with clinical decision makers at&nbsp;local,&nbsp;regional,&nbsp;and national institutions.</li> <li>Lead strategy and generation of health economic and outcomes data and presentation of such data to payer&nbsp;audiences</li> <li>Serve as a Medical Affairs lead for disease state and outcomes-based product presentations to managed-care&nbsp;customers.</li> <li>Serve as mentor for other new hire and/or less experienced MSLs.</li> <li>Manage/lead relevant Field Medical or Medical Director activities/projects including, but not limited to: <ul> <li>Facilitate and lead field medical onboarding programs.</li> <li>Leads the creation and maintenance of the training curriculum for assigned therapeutic area and provides direction to content developers.</li> <li>Support Senior Field Director in translating the medical affairs strategy to a national KOL engagement plan and ensures the KOL development translates to individual territories.</li> <li>Partner with Global Medical Information colleagues to continuously improve Standard Response Letters and efficiency of MIRF process.</li> <li>As a senior member of the medical team, contribute to the medical strategy and medical plan.</li> <li>Provide scientific support to Medical Director and facilitate medical discussion for medical advisory boards.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>About You: Required Education, Skills, and Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Education: Advanced Scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP strongly preferred or Advanced Practice Degree, NP, PA, RPh, or MSN/RN with oncology experience)</li> <li>Minimum of&nbsp;5&nbsp;years MSL experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry</li> <li>Rare disease experience preferred, particularly in&nbsp;Oncology and/or Neurosciences, but not critical.</li> <li>Demonstrated mastery of effectively presenting clinical/scientific information</li> <li>Expert level proficiency with business software including but not limited Veeva CRM or a comparable customer relations management tool, to Adobe Professional, and the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.</li> <li>Ability to understand, review, and communicate complex technical concepts and technologies.</li> <li>Working knowledge of the OIG compliance guidance for pharmaceutical manufacturers</li> <li>Leadership skills including experience working with cross-functional teams with positive impact outside own organization.</li> <li>Highly collaborative with outstanding relationship management&nbsp;skills</li> <li>Energetically embraces responsibilities and demonstrates ability to achieve goals.</li> <li>Ability to thrive in conditions of uncertainty.</li> <li>Advanced decision-making abilities; especially under conditions of uncertainty with implications beyond immediate team</li> <li>Ability to lead and manage projects/teams with little direction/oversight.</li> <li>Advanced verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Ability to influence without direct authority.</li> <li>Ability&nbsp;to relate and work with a wide range of people and functions to achieve results.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize&nbsp;own&nbsp;work schedule.</li> <li>Has&nbsp;a strong personal initiative, acts as a team player, and demonstrates flexibility, innovation, and&nbsp;execution&nbsp;.</li> <li>MSL&nbsp;is&nbsp;required to live within the territory with which&nbsp;they&nbsp;liaise.&nbsp;</li> <li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license&nbsp;required&nbsp;and must be in good standing.&nbsp;</li> <li>Office is home-based. Approximately 50-60% travel is required; overnight travel is required as needed.</li> </ul> <p>The expected salary range for this position is $162,500.00 - $215,000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
