Overview: <div class="content-intro">&nbsp;</div> <p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p> <p>Reporting to the Director, Discovery Biology, the In Vitro Pharmacology Scientist II will serve as the lead of the In Vitro Pharmacology team, contributing to the development of preclinical biochemical/cellular assays to identify novel small molecule Oncology drug candidates. This role will contribute to building a culture of scientific excellence, rigorous innovation, collaboration, and teamwork in a cross-functional setting. This individual will have prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a track record of scientific achievement. This individual will directly or indirectly train or supervise junior staff and may support the activities of CRO partners. This individual will have experience in designing, conducting, and troubleshooting biochemical/cellular assays and studies characterizing the activity of small molecules in tumor biology, in the pharmaceutical/Biotech industry.&nbsp;</p> <br />
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Design and execution of in vitro pharmacology studies using biochemical and cellular assays for small molecule Oncology programs.</li> <li>Initiate investigation of new experimental in vitro pharmacology approaches to specific problems using data from internal/external partners, and technical literature.</li> <li>Collaborate with project leaders to implement scientific technologies with minimal supervision for Oncology R&D programs.</li> <li>May supervise and train junior staff, ensuring safe and productive laboratory practice.</li> <li>May work as part of a team to develop new intellectual property and co-author patent applications and peer-reviewed publications.</li> <li>Implement new technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency across the Discovery Chemistry, DMPK and Discovery Biology groups.</li> <li>Experience in analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing scientific data.</li> <li>Collaborate with project teams in identifying research approaches, hypotheses to be tested, and program milestones to achieve program objective.</li> <li>Lead preparation of key findings with the possibility of presenting to internal/external stakeholders at scientific meetings and conferences.</li> <li>Model SpringWorks values and exemplify scientific excellence within Discovery Biology.</li> <li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li> </ul> <br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>Ph.D. in Molecular and/or Cellular/Tumor Biology plus 5+ years&rsquo; experience in cellular and biochemical assays in biotech/pharma; ideally, in a drug discovery/development setting., or M.S. in Molecular and/or Cellular/Tumor Biology plus 8+ years&rsquo; experience in cellular and biochemical assays in biotech/pharma; ideally, in a drug discovery/development setting preferred.</li> <li>Experience in cell/tissue culture, target validation, drug combination-IC50 assays, qPCR assay development, MOA studies for small molecule inhibitors, High content imaging platforms including Luminex, ELISA, ELISPOT assays and Flow Cytometry (FACS).</li> <li>Highly experienced in use of Tecan D300 drug delivery platform, IncuCyte assays, Lentivirus transductions, Fluorescent and confocal microscopy.</li> <li>Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices in molecular and cellular biology.</li> <li>Scientific creativity and productivity in drug discovery/development.</li> <li>Experience in the interpretation, analysis, documentation, and presentation of key findings in internal and external meetings.</li> <li>Ability Effective training, mentoring and professional development of more junior staff.</li> <li>Ability to lead other laboratory scientists by example and informal mentoring.</li> <li>Hands-on supervision of laboratory work and personnel to ensure safe laboratory practices.</li> <li>Effective organizational, interpersonal, communication and managerial skills.</li> <li>Ability to maintain detailed documentation through electronic and notebook means.</li> <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to communicate technical and cross-functional data to team members and program leaders.</li> <li>Proven ability to work within a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>This position is lab-based and will be required to be on-site 5 days a week.</li> </ul> <p>The expected salary range for this position is $114,330.00 - $150,000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
