Overview: We have a job opportunity in Waltham, MA and are seeking to hire a&nbsp;<strong>Senior Network Engineer</strong>. This is a newly created Sr. Cisco Network Engineer position for a global Fortune 500 company in acquisition and growth mode.&nbsp; Exceptional, enterprise role to join an exceptional team, utilizing today's best practices and technologies.
Responsibilities: <div>&nbsp;</div> <ul> <li>Configure Cisco routers for various WAN technologies, including; MPLS, private line, and Dynamic Multiport VPN (DMVPN). Have a strong working knowledge of access control lists and route maps.</li> <li>Configure and support Cisco Switches. Should have good working knowledge of; VLANs, trunking, EtherChannel, and UTP/fiber cabling standards. Experience with Data center class switching platforms such as Cisco Nexus platform, Cisco Application Central Infrastructure would be a plus.</li> <li>Ability to manage numerous projects, tasks and other assigned work efficiently.&nbsp; Key requirement is the ability to prioritize critical deliverables while meeting all other assigned duties.</li> <li>Develop standards-based and scalable architecture/design of systems for global deployment. Proven track record of conducting pilots and introducing state of art new and innovative solutions is a must.</li> <li>Experience with wireless LAN&rsquo;s using secure authentication methods on plant floors and administrative areas.</li> <li>Experience implementing and managing large global wider area network carrying Data voice and Video traffic.</li> <li>Expertise in troubleshooting routing or other WAN related issues in complex converged network environments.</li> <li>Expertise in implementing proactive network monitoring and automation tools such as SolarWinds, NetQoS, Cisco Prime, Extrahop.</li> <li>Have a strong working knowledge of and experience managing DNS and DHCP protocols.</li> <li>Ability to troubleshoot complex performance problems involving network and application teams using Netflow and packet capture tools.</li> <li>Partake in the after-hours support rotation with other Enterprise network service members.</li> <li>Work daily with other team members on shared assignments and organization goals/objectives.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>4-year college degree &ndash; preferably a technical degree (Computer Science or Engineering).</li> <li>Cisco Certifications preferred &ndash; CCNA, CCNP.</li> <li>4+ year&rsquo;s hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.</li> <li>Strong project management experience.</li> <li>The position requires an independent thinker and worker that can operate in multiple countries with minimal guidance/direction.</li> </ul>
