Overview: <br /> <p>For over 70 years Global Industrial has been an industry leader providing private label and brand name industrial equipment and supplies to businesses throughout North America.</p> <p>We carry over 1.7M industrial, material handling, and business products that are sold through our website, corporate salespeople, and full-color catalogs. We are constantly increasing our product offerings to meet the diverse and changing needs of our customers. Our customers include small to large corporations, institutions, and government agencies as well as consumers.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Administer employee benefit programs to include medical, dental, and insurance plans; disability programs; and 401(k) plans</li> <li>Work with vendors and outsourced defined health advisory firm ensuring quality of customer service, level of response, and scope of work meet organizational goals</li> <li>Assist with the preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with local and regional regulatory agencies including the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies</li> <li>Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and report necessary or suggested changes to management</li> <li>Develop employee statistical and census data for health advisory firm, actuaries, insurance carriers, and management</li> <li>Analyze existing policies and formulate strategic improvements to companywide health, welfare, and 401(k) plans</li> <li>Review and audit data related to benefit plan enrollment and benefits department projects, including the calculation of annual benefits pay amounts, flexible account contributions, adjustment of service dates, etc.</li> <li>Evaluate and compare existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information</li> <li>Introduce approved new plans and changes by preparing announcement material, booklets, and other media for communicating to employees</li> <li>Advise and counsel management and employees on existing benefits which includes addressing benefit related issues regarding enrollment, coverage, claims, and terminations</li> <li>Participation in ongoing benefits-related projects, as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years experience in benefits administration including substantial knowledge of health, welfare, and 401(k) plans</li> <li>Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Sec. 125, etc.) required</li> <li>Excellent PC skills required in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook</li> <li>Strong written and oral communication skills are imperative for interfacing with all levels of management</li> <li>Must also demonstrate a sense of urgency; provide excellent interpersonal and customer service skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment</li> <li>Be deadline driven and able to prioritize multiple tasks, and organize, analyze and interpret data</li> </ul>
