Responsibilities: <p><strong>The new Buyer will:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Perform diversified procurement. You will:</span></li> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Plan and buy a range of direct material categories, including plastic sheet and roll stock, plastic extrusions, wood, and electrical components.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Negotiate pricing and terms with current and potential suppliers.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Schedule and expedite materials pertaining to non-merchandising items.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Drive continuous improvement in all procurement activities</span></li> </ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage local and international supplier relationships. You will:</span></li> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Publish RFPs and RFQs for customized materials.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Interface with Vendors, Materials, Production, Project Management Staff .</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maintain accurate Vendor, Item and Inventory databases.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Receive and interview Vendor representatives to keep abreast of developments, market trends, negotiate prices, service, quality, etc.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Participate in supplier qualification and certification processes.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop and manage Vendor Partnerships to secure both short and long term supply.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Negotiate short and long term commitment agreements.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work with A/P to assist in resolving invoicing issues.</span></li> </ul> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>The new Buyer has:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The education and experience. You have a college diploma or a university degree in Business Administration, Materials Planning or Supply Chain Management. Ideally, you are pursuing APICS or SCMA designations. You have 2-3 years of experience buying/planning and procuring materials and supplies preferably for a Manufacturing Procurement or related field. You know how to write and evaluate RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs. You understand the details, guidelines, restrictions, and requirements of the bidding process and contract management.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The technical skills. You have experience with: </span></li> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">ERP and MRP systems.</span></li> </ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The communication abilities. You are well spoken and can build internal and external relationships. You are a persuasive negotiator, a solver of problems and a conflict management expert. You can compose clear, concise business emails and documents with ease. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The drive. You are self-motivated and proactive; you can take ownership for the end-to-end completion of assignments. You thrive in an autonomous role and you are a valuable team player.
