Overview: We are currently hiring a Behavior Specialist to join our team. You will model person-centered support as a trainer by facilitating a positive work environment, developing success strategies, behavior support plans, and educational training opportunities designed to promote a safe and meaningful life for all individuals receiving services.<br /> <br /><strong>Who you are</strong><br /> <ul> <li>A strong advocate with active observation skills for the rights and best interests of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities</li> <li>An influential communicator who conveys advanced behavior principles in a relatable manner</li> <li>A person who thrives on autonomy with exemplary standards of accountability for yourself and others</li> <li>A high-energy, proactive trainer empathetic to management, staff and clients</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <strong>A typical day will include:</strong>&nbsp;<br /> <ul> <li>Creating your weekly schedule to provide services and supports to clients at our Vocational Centers with on-the-fly flexibility based on situational needs</li> <li>Designing and implementing individual support plans based on direct observation and other methodologies</li> <li>Effectively training staff on data collection and target behavior modifications</li> <li>Attending coordinated client care meetings</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What you&rsquo;ll need to be successful:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Understanding of applied behavior analysis methodologies that are least-restrictive in design and intent</li> <li>Valid CA Driver&rsquo;s License with clean driving record.</li> <li>A Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Social Sciences or similar</li> <li>One (1) year experience in designing behavior support plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as experience providing training on implementation of support plans to staff</li> <li>Excellent business writing skills and statistical analysis</li> </ul> <p><strong>We&rsquo;d love it if you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Have understanding of licensing regulations and experience with public health officials</li> <li>Are multi-lingual (English, Spanish)</li> </ul>
