You will provide leadership and direction to a team providing care and training to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their own home. You ensure the house&rsquo;s condition and a safe work and living environment, and act as a representative with internal and external partners.</p> <p>The wage range for this position is $21-21.50 depending on years of service.</p> <p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Take pride in effectively managing a household of 4 &ndash; 6 individuals plus ~10 staff on multiple shifts</li> <li>Demonstrate accountability by adhering to shift schedules and staff to resident ratios</li> <li>An advocate with active observation for the rights and best interests of adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Supervises, coaches and mentors staff providing guidance to their work and learning in order to continuously improve quality direct support including when necessary corrective/disciplinary action in a timely and professional manner</li> <li>Assisting in the development of, and independently implementing, Individual Support Plans designed to enhance personal growth and independence for program participants</li> <li>Preparing Therap audit reports; assessing behaviors and tracking supports</li> <li>Planning, developing, and implementing a monthly recreational calendar</li> <li>Completing weekly staffing schedules for the house, serving as on-call contact person, and providing shift coverage as necessary</li> <li>Overseeing condition of the residential facility and facility vehicles:</li> <li>Weekly food order (inventory and expirations); trains staff regarding implementation of menu, meal preparation and family style dining</li> <li>Household, incontinent and medical supply orders, and monitors medication storage</li> <li>Safety drills (fire, emergency) and checks all facility alarms</li> <li>House petty cash and monitors individual resident financial accounts</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</li> <li>Must meet, at minimum, one of the following criteria:</li> </ul> <ol> <li> <ul> <li>Possession of a valid vocational nurse or psychiatric technician license issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.</li> <li>Completion of at least 30 college or university units in education, social services, behavioral sciences, health sciences, or related fields, AND six (6) months experience providing direct support to developmentally disabled persons.</li> <li>Eighteen (18) months experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled person under the supervision of a qualified intellectual disability professional (QIDP).</li> </ul> </li> </ol> <ul> <li>Valid CA Driver&rsquo;s License with clean driving record</li> <li>Comfort driving a full size van with multiple passengers</li> <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs</li> <li>Have experience with electronic case management systems (Therap)</li> <li>Have experience with individual service plans (goal development)</li> </ul> <br /> <p>The Arc of San Diego is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
