In this role, you will be responsible for delivering care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the comfort of their own homes. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with the Residential House Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the group home. Your role will involve providing guidance, training, and support to fellow direct support professionals. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Support and motivation to reach individual goals and objectives</li> <li>Engage and facilitate meaningful activities that cater to the person&rsquo;s individual interest, preferences, and choices; teaching as necessary</li> <li>Assists daily living skills including in the areas of grooming, hygiene, toileting, feeding and mobility</li> <li>Provides medications as necessary</li> <li>Completion of electronic documentation prior to end of shifts</li> <li>Assisting in the development of, and independently implementing, Individual Support Plans designed to enhance personal growth and independence for program participants</li> <li>Preparing Therap audit reports; assessing behaviors and tracking supports</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</li> <li>Must meet, at minimum, one of the following criteria:</li> </ul> <ol> <li>Possession of a valid vocational nurse or psychiatric technician license issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.</li> <li>Completion of at least 30 college or university units in education, social services, behavioral sciences, health sciences, or related fields, AND six (6) months experience providing direct support to developmentally disabled persons.</li> <li>Eighteen (18) months experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled person under the supervision of a qualified intellectual disability professional (QIDP).</li> </ol> <ul> <li>Valid CA Driver&rsquo;s License with clean driving record</li> <li>Comfort driving a full size van with multiple passengers</li> <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs</li> <li>Have experience with electronic case management systems (Therap)</li> <li>Have experience with individual service plans (goal development)</li> </ul> <p><strong>We&rsquo;d love it if you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Are multi-lingual (English, Spanish, Tagalog)</li> <li>Have supervisory experience</li> </ul> <br /> <p>The Arc of San Diego is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
