You will be supporting a small group (usually 1:3 ratio) of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities at their work site. This is a food service operation on a military base where you and your team will be serving food, washing dishes, and cleaning the mess hall. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Ensuring completion of work tasks as required by the employer and/or established procedures</li> <li>Providing on-going training to participants throughout the workday as needed</li> <li>Communicating effectively and professionally with employer and other employees at the work site</li> <li>Demonstrating appropriate work behaviors at all times</li> <li>Completion of electronic documentation prior to end of shifts</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What you&rsquo;ll need to be successful:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</li> <li>Valid CA Driver&rsquo;s License with clean driving record</li> <li>Immediate access to vehicle with working seatbelts to transport participants</li> <li>Comfort driving a full size van with multiple passengers</li> <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs</li> <li>High comfort in using multiple computer /mobile device programs</li> <li>Ability to translate employer needs to individuals with disabilities</li> <li>Willingness to adhere to dress and appearance standards</li> <li>Comfort working at a high volume military site</li> </ul> <p><strong>We&rsquo;d love it if you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Had 6 or more months of prior hands-on experience with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities</li> <li>Are multi-lingual (English, Spanish, Tagalog)</li> <li>Have experience with electronic case management systems (Therap)</li> <li>Have experience with individual service plans (goal development)</li> <li>Were experienced and comfortable in handling the duties you will be teaching and supporting (food service, janitorial as examples)</li> </ul> <br /> <p>The Arc of San Diego is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
