Overview: <br />The Arc of San Diego is the largest, most comprehensive provider of services to children and adults with disabilities in San Diego County.<br /><br />We are a diverse team of dedicated individuals who are passionate about serving and empowering children and adults to live their most fulfilling and independent lives.<br /><br />We are currently seeking a Job Coach with a background in grounds maintenance or landscaping to join our Mobile Grounds Team.<br /><br />Join our dynamic team where we prioritize our Person First, Person Centered Approach to create purposeful days for both our clients and colleagues alike. We are on the lookout for individuals who not only align with our vibrant culture but also bring the necessary expertise and passion to the table.<br /><br />We are urgently seeking someone with a talent for grounds maintenance or landscaping. You will be instrumental in supporting a small group (1:3 ratio) of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at their work sites. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Ensuring completion of work tasks as required by the employer and/or established procedures</li> <li>Providing on-going training to participants throughout the workday as needed</li> <li>Communicating effectively and professionally with employer and other employees at the work site</li> <li>Demonstrating appropriate work behaviors at all times</li> <li>Completion of electronic documentation prior to end of shifts</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</li> <li>Valid CA Driver&rsquo;s License with clean driving record</li> <li>Immediate access to vehicle with working seatbelts to transport participants</li> <li>Comfort driving a full size van with multiple passengers</li> <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs</li> <li>High comfort in using multiple computer /mobile device programs</li> <li>Ability to translate employer needs to individuals with disabilities</li> <li>Willingness to adhere to dress and appearance standards</li> </ul> <strong>We&rsquo;d love it if you:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Had 6 or more months of prior hands-on experience with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities</li> <li>Landscaping or Grounds Maintenance experience</li> <li>Knowledge of outdoor power equipment</li> <li>Are multi-lingual (English, Spanish, Tagalog)</li> <li>Have experience with electronic case management systems (Therap)</li> <li>Have experience with individual service plans (goal development)</li> </ul> <br />The Arc of San Diego is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
