You will provide training to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them succeed equipped with the right skills in their group supported employment work sites.<br /> <br />Location: Miramar Military Base<br /> <br />Schedule: Mon-Fri 7a-3p<br /><br /> <p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Enjoy teaching others</li> <li>Take pride in being a reliable and relatable member of a team</li> <li>Invested in working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities</li> </ul> <br />
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Providing direction and completing landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, edging and minor irrigation.</li> <li>Ensuring completion of work tasks as required by the employer and/or established procedures.</li> <li>Providing on-going training to participants throughout the workday as needed.</li> <li>Collecting and recording data on participant&rsquo;s goals as required.</li> <li>Communicating effectively and professionally with employer and other employees at the work site.</li> <li>Emulating exemplary work behaviors at all times.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Experience in landscaping services including with heavy machinery (riding mower, chainsaw, trimmer)</li> <li>HS Diploma or GED</li> <li>Physically capable of performing a range of tasks; including moving and lifting equipment and materials up to 100 pounds; ability and willingness to work in adverse weather</li> <li>Valid CA Driver&rsquo;s License with clean driving record; able and willing to transport clients</li> </ul> <p><strong>We&rsquo;d love it if you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Were multi-lingual (English, Spanish preferred)</li> <li>Had experience as a job coach or employment specialist for individuals with disabilities</li> </ul>
