Overview: <br />We are currently hiring&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/track?uri=urn:aaid:scds:US:e50f417f-441f-4693-afe6-a7d2a7410a09" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Community Engagement Specialists</a></strong>&nbsp;for our team. You will&nbsp;work closely with our Workshop and Activity Center clients to help them achieve their community inclusion goals. This role needs a person-centered coach who is as savvy at assisting clients with change as they are skilled at delivering individualized, meaningful, and engaging community-based programming.
Responsibilities: <br /> <p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>An independent team player with a passion for providing meaningful days for clients by empowering them to live their most independent lives</li> <li>A strong advocate with keen observation skills for the rights and best interests of adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities</li> <li>Flexible and adaptable to different situations</li> <li>Have an educator mindset</li> <li>A strong communicator who enjoys&nbsp;actively networking in the community to ensure each client has a robust menu of service options from which to choose</li> </ul> <p><br /> </p> <p><strong>A typical day will include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implementing community-inclusive services for program participants</li> <li>Developing individualized activities tailored to each client&rsquo;s goals within integrated settings</li> <li>Proactively identifying and facilitating job, training, volunteer or other community activities</li> <li>Using various forms of new and existing technology for the purpose of providing virtual experiences, documenting work, and communicating remotely with different stakeholders</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>What you&rsquo;ll need to be successful:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent with at least four (4) years of experience working in disability services</li> <li>Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business or a related field from an accredited college/university or equivalent with two (2) years of experience working in disability services, case management, job development services, and or employment services preferred</li> <li>Valid CA Driver&rsquo;s License with a clean driving record&nbsp;</li> <li>Immediate access to vehicle with working seatbelts to transport participants</li> <li>High comfort in using multiple computer/mobile device programs&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge relating to the rights and support services for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities</li> </ul> <p><br /> </p> <p><strong>We&rsquo;d love it if you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Were multi-lingual (English, Spanish, Tagalog)</li> <li>Had experience with an electronic case management systems (Therap preferred)</li> </ul>
