Responsibilities: <br /> <p>Performs a variety of administrative and/or clerical support functions for the legal department which may include data input, courier activities, general typing, filing, and record-keeping. May learn and perform duties of other Law Office Support staff if needed.</p> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <p><strong><u>DATA INPUT</u></strong></p> <div>&nbsp;</div> <ul> <li>Enters information in CLMS database to create a record of claim litigation. Updates and maintains the Claim Processing System (CPS), assignment, transfer, and modification to the CLMS database.</li> <li>Performs all necessary processes to close files which includes final disposition letter, forwards all files to designated branches, and ensures distribution of expense checks. Types and mails settlement checks and survey letters.</li> <li>Processes accounting reports such as bank reconciliation statements, outstanding draft listing, and JUA statements. Processes claim cash receipts, claim check corrections, and deposit outside checks. Processes stop payments and check copies. Keeps log of work output. Enters vendor account information.</li> </ul> <div>&nbsp;</div> <p><strong><u>COURT COURIER</u></strong></p> <div>&nbsp;</div> <ul> <li>Delivers and files various court orders, court papers, legal memos, and legal fees to court personnel or judges and obtains appropriate signatures as required.</li> <li>Delivers legal files, papers, and reports to various lawyers as requested.</li> <li>Registers and confirms company court dates with court clerks and notifies Legal office of confirmations or alternations.</li> <li>Relieves mail clerk as necessary.</li> <li>Trains mail clerk on various court courier duties.</li> </ul> <div>&nbsp;</div> <p><strong><u>GENERAL CLERICAL</u></strong></p> <div>&nbsp;</div> <ul> <li>Types reports and correspondence.</li> <li>Computes and compiles routine data, prepares various reports, charts, and graphs of a recurring nature.</li> <li>Schedules conference rooms and makes other arrangements for meetings.</li> <li>Organizes and maintains files and record systems; receives and sorts unit mail.</li> <li>Receives and assists visitors.</li> </ul>
