Responsibilities: <ul> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Serve as a senior creative individual within the company, functioning as a lead writer or designer.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Solve communication needs by initiating, developing and producing creative concepts and outputs for all marketing media (e.g. .com, email, social media, radio/television advertising, magazine advertising, collateral, etc.).&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Work is used across the company, within all lines of business and with member and non-member audiences.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Develop creative briefs and generate concepts meeting brief specifications.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Provide sound creative rationale that supports marketing strategy, business objectives and the creative brief.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Develop supportive layouts and messaging.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Work within a writing/art team to explore new approaches.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Recommend and develop creative solutions to meet objectives and ensure adherence to quality and brand standards. Collaborate with individuals from various departments and members of creative team. </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Oversee the activities of advertising agency personnel engaged in the development/production of print/television/radio/web advertisements.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Provide oversight to freelance writers or designers as needed, ensuring accurate application of brand standards and conveyance of intended message. &nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Work in cooperation with team members regarding broadcast and in-studio projects as indicated.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Coach, review and approve graphics, copy and designed materials of more junior staff.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Collaborate with creative services management to monitor creative direction, tone and manner, and corporate identity to assure continuity and consistency in work produced.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Develop enhancements to existing brand guide.</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Provide unique expertise that complements other creative team members.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Examples include: serving as the subject matter expert on company brand guidelines and liaison to AAA National.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Other examples include expertise in broadcast techniques and production effectiveness, and expertise in imagery and design.&nbsp; </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Leverage expertise for maximum team impact versus objectives.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"> Assist in the identification and improvement of departmental processes.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: large;"><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></strong></span></p> <div><u>Experience:</u></div> <ul> <li>Utilizing social media to convey marketing messages</li> <li>Magazine advertising</li> </ul> <div><u>Knowledge of:</u></div> <ul> <li>AAA brand standards and effective marketing practices</li> <li>MEEMIC brand standards and effective marketing practices</li> <li>Company products and services</li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: large;"><strong><u>Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):</u></strong></span></p> <ul> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, English, Graphic Design or equivalent.</span></div> </li> </ul> <div><u>Experience:</u></div> <ul> <li>Print, broadcast and online media advertising/copywriting or art direction and graphic design</li> <li>Development and execution of creative concepts and marketing campaigns</li> <li>Work within a corporate identity program</li> </ul> <div><u>Knowledge of:</u></div> <ul> <li>Advertising and marketing principles</li> <li>Direct marketing methodology and techniques</li> <li>Copywriting styles and approaches or illustration, design and photography techniques &nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Print production management as it relates to pre-press production for all forms of printing (e.g., sheet-fed, web, continuous, laser imaging, digital and silkscreen)</li> <li>Broadcast media concepts and techniques</li> <li>Online digital and production management</li> </ul> <div><u>Ability to:</u></div> <ul> <li>Initiate, develop, edit and manage creative concepts for marketing media</li> <li>Collaborate with team members to develop marketing concepts</li> <li>Review and approve graphics, copy and designed materials</li> <li>Coach junior team members in the development of their work and creative skills</li> <li>Apply knowledge (creative, corporate, product, membership, regulatory) to the creative planning and execution of marketing programs</li> <li>Take ownership as a brand steward, and serve as a subject matter expert, teaching others</li> <li>Ensure all finished material meets brand standards</li> <li>Act as advisor on best practice creative design and copywriting</li> <li>Oversee use of and ensure adherence to advertising style guide criteria</li> <li>Work as a productive member of cross-functional marketing teams and with a wide range of demanding clients</li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">Portfolio required at time of interview.</span></p>
