Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Serves as a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager of one or more Testing Teams; working with one or more business units and development units for medium to large projects.</li> <li>The quality Assurance Manager is the primary liaison between development teams, vendors, and/or business customers.</li> <li>Develops and maintains detailed QA testing project plans.</li> <li>Responsible for ensuring QA teams deliver the highest quality testing and documentation within the agreed-upon timeline and budget.</li> <li>Defines, develops, and creates project scope, objectives and resource need related to testing and quality assurance activities for information technology projects.</li> <li>Authors and/or in some cases works with QA Leads to develop test plans and ensures test cases thoroughly support customer requirements.</li> <li>Ensures customer approvals are received on test plans, test cases, and expected results.</li> <li>Coordinates the work assignments and tasks for subordinates and objectively evaluates individual performance to objectives.</li> <li>Responsible for providing oversight of QA teams and ensuring all QA processes and procedures are followed.</li> <li>Responsible for providing accurate and regular QA status reports and variance analysis to ensure the project remains on schedule and within budget.</li> <li>Monitors metric information is necessary to identify and understand trends and issues related to software certification and testing.</li> <li>Analyzes testing policies/procedures and assists with the development of innovative approaches to enhance the effectiveness of Quality Assurance.</li> <li>Assists management with the development and administration of quality assurance standards, processes, and procedures.</li> <li>Defines, develops, and maintains test data repositories.</li> <li>Assists management with continued development and enhancement of planning of standards, policies, and procedures related to the testing of computer applications.</li> <li>Coordinates/conducts training of Quality Assurance staff relative to tool usage, new application functionality, and technical tasks.</li> <li>Adheres to and supports all ACG Enterprise Testing Center of Excellence Quality Assurance standards, policies and procedures.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Education:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>College-level coursework or formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Quality Assurance, or related field.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Experience:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Participating in and contributing to the development and documentation of business requirements</li> <li>Reviewing business requirements and technical design documents</li> <li>Identifying test conditions based on business requirements and technical design</li> <li>Developing test cases based on test conditions, business requirements, and technical design</li> <li>Proactively identifying, researching, and resolving problems</li> <li>Developing re-usable documentation</li> <li>Analyzing test results for validity and correctness</li> <li>Utilizing PC software applications (e.g. Windows, Word Processing, Spreadsheets)</li> <li>Testing applications on multiple platforms</li> <li>Testing, working with, or evaluating third party vendor packages</li> <li>Working in strong, positive team environments</li> <li>Conducting 1:1 sessions with team members</li> <li>Conducting performance reviews</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Knowledge and Skills:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and personal skills</li> <li>Operating systems (e.g. MVS, AIX/UNIX/LINUX, Windows, iOS, Android, Mac)</li> <li>Software implementation and maintenance</li> <li>The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)</li> <li>The Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)</li> <li>Industry technology standards relative to infrastructure/architectural concepts, database design concepts, server languages</li> <li>Waterfall and agile methodologies</li> <li>Various test approaches and when each should be employed (Baseline, Parallel, Black Box, White Box, Gray Box, etc.)</li> <li>Validating database table entries using SQL statements including both single table and multiple table entries</li> <li>Adding, modifying, and/or deleting table data via SQL statements in order to perform specific tests</li> <li>Validating log entries after batch jobs are executed</li> <li>Validating data in files produced after batch jobs are executed</li> <li>Writing, executing, and validating XML scripts using tools such as SOAP UI and/or HP Service</li> <li>Validating application logs after online triggers have been invoked</li> <li>Common infrastructure design and communication protocols (flat files/FTP, MQ, Web Services, XML) both internal and external to a given application</li> <li>Comparing pre-release and post-release files</li> <li>Creating files in compliance with specifications to execute particular batch jobs</li> <li>Test management and defect tracking tools</li> <li>Executing test cases and executing test cases from test management tools</li> <li>Test automation tools</li> <li>Structured quality control standards, procedures, and test processes</li> <li>Evaluate small to medium-sized systems and understand the interdependencies between components</li> <li>Take initiative to explore alternative approaches to project tasks or existing processes</li> <li>Communicate clearly about technical topics</li> <li>Interact effectively with representatives of various business units</li> <li>Present a positive personal image</li> <li>Listen, support, and give constructive criticism</li> <li>Clarify problems and make logical decisions</li> <li>Delegate tasks to the people with the right skillset</li> </ul> <br />Important Note: The above statements describe the principal and essential functions, but not all functions that may be inherent in the job.
