Responsibilities: <p>Responsible for the development, monitoring and maintenance of various reports, dashboards and databases utilized to produce outputs, identify and resolve problems, manage expenditures, improve departmental processes, etc. Participates in the development and support of departmental systems using various software and tools. Works with management personnel to identify analytical requirements and define parameters, evaluates alternatives and develops functional/technical specifications for reports. Conducts testing and makes modifications to ensure accurate results. Analyzes data, identifies trends and makes recommendations regarding the development or modification of procedures or processes to improve departmental operation. Identifies and resolves problems as indicated. Develops, implements, and maintains automated business solutions. Coordinates user testing of new automated applications.</p> <p>Coordinates implementation of changes, enhancements, and new functions with other areas.</p> <p>Identifies and analyzes system concerns and makes recommendations regarding options. Represents department in meetings and on project teams.</p> <p>Coordinates the development and distribution of user training materials for in-house developed applications.</p> <p>Serves as project leader on comprehensive projects to include: formulating, coordinating, controlling, monitoring and reporting on project development efforts. May develop databases, prepare queries and other reports for use in the interpretation and analysis of Claims related data.</p> <p>Responsible for budget preparation, monitoring and data analysis to assist claims personnel in expense management.</p> <p>Performs a variety of cost/benefit analyses in order to assist in the decision-making process.</p>
Requirements: <p><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Experience in:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The use of application development tools (Visual Basic and Access Developer's Toolkit, Internet, Intranet and web page development).</li> <li>The use of programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQR, SQL, etc.).</li> <li>Service of membership and insurance products.</li> <li>Project management certification.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge of:</strong></p> <ul> <li>AAA membership and insurance products, sales and service delivery systems, and processing systems.</li> <li>Insurance-related terminology, procedures and practices.</li> <li>Claims processing systems (e.g. FACTS, Pisces, IPM, CPS, CCC, MSBT, Footprints, automated estimating software, etc.).</li> <li>Claims policies and procedures.</li> <li>People Soft financial and human resource systems.</li> <li>Microsoft Office application specifically Excel and Access.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):</strong></p> <ul> <li>College level coursework in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.&nbsp; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Analyzing and summarizing data to identify trends and assess potential impacts.</li> <li>Analyzing automation opportunities, researching alternatives, and recommending solutions.</li> <li>Conducting cost/benefit analyses.</li> <li>Developing and/or documenting procedures or training materials.</li> <li>Utilizing computer software applications for designing, developing, testing, and implementing basic to medium complex business solutions.</li> <li>Using a variety of software applications including: OBIEE, Web Focus, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, etc. to format databases, write queries, generate reports, etc.</li> <li>Developing/building databases, creating macros, and importing data.</li> <li>Working on multiple and diverse projects simultaneously.</li> <li>Organizing and planning effectively.</li> <li>Leading and coordinating the design and implementation of small to medium projects.</li> <li>Designing business unit specific processes to improve work flow.</li> <li>Identifying, researching, and resolving business problems.</li> <li>Plan, design, coordinate, develop, and conduct user training as necessary for successful implementation of field automation tools.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge and Skills:</strong></p> <p><strong>Demonstrated skills in:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Project planning/management.</li> <li>Strong written communication skills including proposal preparation, reports and technical writing.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge of:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Security and control procedures &ndash; i.e.&nbsp;<em>Footprints/CLMS/In-house developed databases (e.g.</em> maintaining tables, reset of passwords, etc.).</li> <li>Budget preparation and variance analysis.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Ability to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Understand the fundamentals of corporate insurance systems (e.g. CPS, FACTS) and internally developed forms, templates, and automated applications.</li> <li>Prepare, monitor and analyze department-wide budget.</li> <li>Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports.</li> <li>Analyze problems to identify causes and recommend automation solutions.</li> <li>Consult on productivity and process improvement issues.</li> <li>Design/support business unit specifications/reports.</li> <li>Develop and distribute performance support tools (e.g., job aids, README files, etc.).</li> <li>Quickly master new software products for evaluation and/or implementation.</li> <li>Provide technical guidance and assistance on a variety of software products to all levels of product users.</li> <li>Act as a liaison between department users and systems technicians.</li> <li>Communicate clearly and concisely about technical topics to business or technical personnel.</li> <li>Communicate effectively with others in a work environment and with the public.</li> <li>Develop testing protocol.</li> <li>Working effectively in a team environment.</li> <li>Working under pressure to complete assignments in a timely manner.</li> <li>Willingness to relocate.</li> </ul>
