Overview: <p>The <strong>Senior Vice President (SVP), Chief Marketing Officer </strong>will be based in Dearborn, Michigan and report to the Executive Vice President, COTO and Membership Experience of the Auto Club Group. This role will be accountable for:</p> <ul> <li>Planning, execution and optimization of marketing strategies in support of the AAA Brand and associated business priorities and initiatives;</li> <li>Guiding the direction, development and execution of company integrated marketing plans, across all business lines, multiple states and among various customer segments and sales/distribution channels;</li> <li>Directing strategic plans and development into new marketing channels to reach specific target segments and keep pace with industry and market trends to gain a competitive advantage;</li> <li>Promoting products and services through digital channels</li> <li>Building a lasting digital connection with members</li> <li>Launching optimized online presence to increase company and brand awareness</li> <li>Planning and monitoring ongoing company presence on social media</li> </ul> <p>The <strong>Senior Vice President (SVP), Chief Marketing Officer </strong> will be an experienced, high-energy, member-centric marketing leader with a track record of growth and brand building through digital marketing. The successful candidate will possess a balance of strategic marketing capabilities and a strong execution and results orientation.</p> <p>The <strong>Senior Vice President (SVP), Chief Marketing Officer </strong>will have experience connecting business strategy with ever-changing market and digital trends and have a bias to never stop thinking about better ways to advance the company and brand through digital means. Collaboration and teamwork skills are required to maintain strong relationships across the business units and the marketing organization while asking questions which challenge the status quo and lead to new thinking about the brand, marketing programs and member experience.</p>
Responsibilities: <p>Key responsibilities of the <strong>Senior Vice President (SVP), Chief Marketing Officer </strong>will include:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Driving profitable sales growth </strong>by developing, implementing, tracking and optimizing a digital marketing strategy integrated with company-wide marketing plans. Builds awareness and consideration of ACG, increases engagement of members and improves profitability of promotional activities. Influences ACG senior leaders to assess digital marketing strategies not previously considered. Optimizes spend across each key lever and channel.</li> <li><strong>Growing membership </strong>through cost effective acquisition, offers that drive increased spend, and differentiated loyalty programs that increase member retention and long term value. Builds greater personalization capabilities and takes action on member insights to enhance the overall digital member experience.</li> <li><strong>Increasing ACG brand awareness </strong>through increasing digital visibility with target audiences and continuing refinement of ACG's value proposition. Actively manages brand reputation.</li> <li><strong>Building new digital marketing capabilities </strong>through constant evaluation of current capabilities and knowledge of leading digital marketing practices. Develops build or buy strategy. Partners with leading third parties to accelerate development. Continuously improves digital marketing assets such as digital content and campaigns, social monitoring, etc.</li> <li><strong>Effectively leveraging analytics </strong>to drive digital marketing efforts and decision making. Implements and utilizes real time learning cycle to improve digital marketing effectiveness and efficiency, member life time value, member experience, etc.</li> <li><strong>Building and leading a strong team </strong>by identifying and acquiring digital marketing talent and fostering a high performance culture of risk taking and accountability. Develops and inspires high potential team members and proactively manages performance. Strives to continually improve engagement and morale of team.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>Specific candidate competencies and experiences sought include:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 15 years of experience creating effective and innovative Consumer marketing and communications programs including digital marketing programs and practices, known for excellence in insights led marketing and member experience.</li> <li>Experience integrating across marketing disciplines, including digital, to drive measurable increases in attention and market share: including strategy development, marketplace positioning/differentiation, branding and integrated multi-channel communication/messaging.</li> <li>Experience with proactive reputation management and brand development on social media platforms.</li> <li>Experience managing a team including hiring, developing and, when necessary, transitioning talent; budgetary management; setting a strategic direction; and driving programs to successful completion.</li> <li>A track record of working effectively as part of a senior team, staying on the cutting edge to proactively take advantage of new opportunities, challenging the status quo in a respectful manner and pushing an organization to test new and innovative strategies by building and leveraging strong relationships</li> <li>Extensive C Level partnership and experience with associated executive presence; viewed by senior leadership as someone who is not only an expert at their craft, but a business partner whom others respect and trust.</li> <li>Knowledgeable and credible communication to provide guidance for the company in promoting its brand and conducting business. Persuasive, able to assist others in understanding digital marketing and assist in arriving at the right decision for the company. Successful partnerships with business unit teams.</li> <li>Strategic thinking and ability to navigate without an established "playbook."</li> <li>Analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.</li> <li>An undergraduate degree is required. A graduate degree such as an MBA is desired.</li> </ul>
