Overview: <p>In your role as Category Manager, you will create, implement and oversee the strategy and execution of all assigned category initiatives. You are responsible for developing, managing, procuring and merchandising specific food lines and brands. You will analyze product movement, market data and trends, and work closely with store members and staffs in developing sales and marketing strategies to meet sales and margin goals.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Drive sales through category product planning and selection, development and execution of strategic product and promotional marketing plans and vendor/supplier negotiations;</li> <li>Provide detailed analysis and track growth for the assigned category, focusing on product assortment, pricing, promotions, new product introductions, price changes etc.;</li> <li>Identify top-performing SKU's; identify growth opportunities;</li> <li>Develop and maintain regular reports to track performance and identify the impact of variables on category performance against established metrics; report on trends, and opportunities;</li> <li>Review vendor proposals, draft and review contracts to support the category's success through vendor negotiation; manage and maintain vendor relationships;</li> <li>Review category pricing reports regularly, identify potential pricing issues. Conduct detailed analysis of the impact of pricing and assortment changes; provide findings and recommendations to the Strategy, Research and Insight Manager.</li> <li>Develop category-specific communications, including product launch support materials, training materials and point-of-sale materials to distribute to the field;</li> <li>Collaborate with the following departments: Sales, Purchasing, Marketing, Design, and Operations;</li> <li>Research competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising; maintain research database;</li> <li>Organize meetings and trade shows; establish contacts; develop schedules and assignments; coordinate mailing lists; and,</li> <li>Manage budgets and financials related to marketing campaigns.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <div> <div class="container-fluid" data-templateid="1001"> <div class="row"> <div id="grid-jobdetail" class="col-md-9"> <div> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years&rsquo; experience in Category Management or Store Management;</li> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Business or Marketing is preferred;</li> <li>Proficient in the following areas: Negotiation, Procurement, Finance, and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint;</li> <li>Strong analytical skills; able to manage projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines;</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work independently, and in a collaborative team environment;</li> <li>High attention to detail, strong organizational skills;</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communications, coupled with sound interpersonal skills; and,</li> <li>Ability to build teams and partnerships with co-workers and cross-functional teams.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>A competitive salary is being offered along with opportunities to learn, develop and advance throughout the organization.
