The Instructional Designer for the North West Company (NWC) uses standard instructional design methods and adult learning theory to develop learning materials for all banners and NWC corporate. Responsibilities: <h3><strong>Your Role:</strong></h3> <ul> <li> <h3>Contribute to the development and implementation of learning standards and brand at NWC;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Create appropriate and relevant blended learning experiences to support performance improvement;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Develop and implement strategies to measure and evaluate the impact of training initiatives to individual / team performance, as well as to overall business results;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Lendtechnicalexpertisetobusinesspartnersinthecreationanddevelopment of instructional documentation, user guides and other user content;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Maintain existing training programs and identify opportunities for improvement;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Follow-up on completion, success, and transfer of knowledge;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Develop training on designated topics as well as creating participant and trainer manuals along with resources, tutorials, guides, etc;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Create and maintain tracking, revision, and approval documents for all training materials;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Align and update training with NWC style guide and learning standards;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Regularly monitor progress and/or effectiveness of training and implement changes based on feedback;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Develop and coordinate pilot testing of training materials; make recommendations based on findings;</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Coordinate work with printing services to have training materials, job aids, etc. printed.; and</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Develop tools for instructor-led and online workshops that may include development of reference guides, reference cards, and job aids.</h3> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <h3 class="content-card-header"><strong>Desired Skills &amp; Experience:</strong></h3> <ul> <li> <h3>Ability to develop detailed instructional design documents that include learning objectives, content sequence, and evaluation methods.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Ability to use standard instructional design methods and adult learning theory to develop learning materials for face-to-face, self-study, and computer-based delivery.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Experience with Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or other rapid e-learning authoring tools strongly preferred.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Experience with learning management systems strongly preferred.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple proj- ects to completion in a timely and accurate manner and to prioritize, sched- ule, and meet deadlines.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Strong editing and quality reviewing skills for consistency, procedures, style, audience needs, and grammatical accuracy.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Flexibility, a growth mindset, and the ability to be integral part of a team strongly preferred.</h3> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Reports to:</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Manager Instructional Design</p> <p><strong>A competitive salary is being offered along with opportunities to learn, develop and advance throughout the organization.
