Overview: Touchmark at Fairway Village, Vancouver's prestigious full-service retirement community, is looking for a professional, high-energy Bartender with excellent communication skills and an affinity for senior clientele. The Bartender will work in our brand-new bar area and associated Charley's Bistro, serving beer, wine, classic cocktails and&nbsp;food to&nbsp;residents. The Bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, get to know the regulars including our residents and their families, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <ul type="disc" data-darkreader-inline-bgcolor="" data-darkreader-inline-color="" data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Developing new cocktail recipes.</li> </ul> <p data-darkreader-inline-bgcolor="" data-darkreader-inline-color="" data-darkreader-inline-outline=""><strong data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Additional Bistro Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul data-darkreader-inline-bgcolor="" data-darkreader-inline-color="" data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Maintain standards of Food and Beverage quality and guest service quality.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Greet &nbsp;residents and guests.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Ensure prompt requests for drink orders.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Present menus, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and service.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meal portions have been completed.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Clear and reset tables.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Complete all side work as assigned.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Maintain a clean work and storage area.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">May assist in the set-up, cleaning, and refreshing of the function rooms.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Attend department meetings.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Process all orders using Micros and collect payment from customers, and provide assistance in Food and Beverage areas including busing, cleaning, resetting tables, and delivering food to residents.</p> </li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <p data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Perform general cleaning and maintenance of Food and Beverage prep areas, counting the bank at end of shifts, and following property control audit standards and cash handling procedures</p> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul type="disc" data-darkreader-inline-bgcolor="" data-darkreader-inline-color="" data-darkreader-inline-outline=""> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">High School Diploma.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-outline="">Washington State MAST Certificate, class 12.
