Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Read and understand single-line drawings, double-line drawings, isometrics, shop fabrication drawings, and mechanical schematics.</li> <li>Select the size and type of pipe, and related materials and equipment such as support, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.</li> <li>Assemble and install piping systems such as ductile iron, PVC, steel, copper, stainless steel pipe, and black iron.</li> <li>Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, grinder, cutting torch, and pipe-cutting machine.</li> <li>Connects pipes using threaded, welded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.</li> <li>Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components on machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders using hand tools.</li> <li>Install and maintain compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping, using hand tools and power tools, and following specifications and blueprints.</li> <li>Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter.</li> <li>Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and maintain strong attention to detail.</li> <li>Good communication and managerial skills.</li> <li>Trade school education or apprenticeship.</li> <li>Meet state licensure requirements.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge, skills and abilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Willing to be registered through the local union.</li> <li>Must be highly motivated; Communication, Common-Sense and Safety cannot be stressed enough.</li> <li>Valid Driver&rsquo;s License. <ul> <li>Familiarity with all relevant techniques and tools needed to perform your duties.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Exceptional physical fitness and hand-eye coordination.</li> <li>Capacity to operate independently.</li> <li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li> <li>Outstanding customer service skills.</li> <li>Willingness to avail yourself beyond normal working hours.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical and/or travel demands:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must have the necessary physical stamina; to include, but not limited to, long-term overhead work.</li> <li>Must be able to work for extended hours or workdays.</li> <li>Must be careful during work to avoid injury (get help lifting, steps and ladder safety, etc.).</li> <li>Must be able to work with powered construction tools safely.</li> <li>Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.</li> <li>Must be able to pass drug screen at any given time during employment.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
