This is a socially active role that drives a culture of safety and high-quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Safety Management:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Culture: <ul> <li>Build trusting relationships with team members to foster a safety-conscious culture and promote safety performance.</li> <li>Regularly communicates safety records to enterprise-wide leaders.</li> <li>Develop and manage an operating budget while being a good steward of the company&rsquo;s resources.</li> <li>A strong bond with cross-regional Safety &amp; Quality Assurance Managers is critical to companywide alignment.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Prevention: <ul> <li>Coordinates Metalworks facility-specific safety orientation and other training programs.</li> <li>Collaborate on the development of safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with enterprise-wide expectations and local, state and federal regulations.</li> <li>Conduct and document regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.</li> <li>Supply facility with all Safety and First Aid supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and assure 100% team member and guest compliance.</li> <li>Stops work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Incident Action: <ul> <li>Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.</li> <li>Following an injury, coordinates and assists in emergency or medical treatment operations as required.</li> <li>Assists in preparing written appeals for safety violation citations, as necessary.</li> <li>Conducts property damage and personal injury investigations and prepares affiliated reports.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Recognition: <ul> <li>Coordinates safety recognition to reward team members for ensuring a safe working environment.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Quality Assurance:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Establish and enforce quality control procedures for production processes, inspections, and testing to deliver products with zero defects or misinterpretations of customer expectations.</li> <li>Collaborate on the development of the Metalworks Quality Assurance Plan, including implementation and team member training, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.</li> <li>Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.</li> <li>Monitor and analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, address non-conformities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.</li> <li>Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and production teams to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent reoccurrence.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>B.S. degree in engineering or construction management, or a related field is preferred.</li> <li>High School diploma combined with the completion of a certified apprenticeship program in a relevant trade will be considered.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum four years experience in safety management and quality assurance related to mechanical system fabrication, manufacturing facility operations or process plant operations.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards (OSHA, NFPA, etc.) and quality management systems (ISO 9001, ASME, etc.).</li> <li>Ability to effectively drive safety and quality initiatives, influence behavior, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.</li> <li>Safety certifications (CP, CHST) and quality certifications (ASQ, Six Sigma) are a plus.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Knowledge, skills, and abilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to establish and analyze metrics to assess quality assurance goals.</li> <li>Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive process improvements.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities with diplomacy and persuasion.</li> <li>Proficiency in using a variety of applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI) and quality management software.</li> <li>Ability to be self-motivating and constantly seeking to gain knowledge of new technical practices in the controls industry.</li> <li>Sound judgment and decision-making abilities to evaluate risks, prioritize tasks, and determine appropriate actions, including the ability to influence and motivate team members to actively participate in safety and quality initiatives.</li> <li>Ability to handle high pressure situations and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining composure.</li> <li>Ability to actively listen to team members, stakeholders, and customers demonstrating empathy and understanding.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Physical and/or Travel demands:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to move around the manufacturing facility, including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting. The job is performed in a combination of settings, including the production floor, storage yard as well as in the office.&nbsp;</li> <li>Requires travel for internal meetings and to attend events outside the region.</li> <li>Position includes sitting and use of telephone, keyboard, and computer monitor.</li> <li>Use of tools, equipment, and instruments for safety inspections &amp; QA activities.</li> <li>Sufficient visual acuity to conduct inspections, read safety and quality documentation, and identify potential hazards or non-conformities.</li> <li>Ability to handle periods of extended work hours, conducting inspections, and overseeing safety and quality processes.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Benefits and Compensation:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The range for this position has been established at $86,000&nbsp;to $129,000 and is US Engineering&rsquo;s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.</li> <li>Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck.
