The USE family of companies offers full-service, award-winning plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal construction, service and maintenance. <br /><br /><br />The Preconstruction Engineer assists Preconstruction Manager with a variety of project development related functions, including project designs and budgets, from inception through the preconstruction phase, and continues to act as a resource throughout the project, for designated regional division.
Responsibilities: <br />Design / Engineering:<ul>Assist in conceptually finishing the design on incomplete design documents. </li>Review of design documents for evaluation of project, cost impact, and schedule impact.</li>Review engineering calculations by the design engineer. </li>Support Preconstruction Manager in overseeing the design progress on design-assist and design-build projects in terms of scope control, schedule impact and coordination.</li>Serve as a resource for Project Managers and Field personnel on design issues.</li>Research solutions to engineering applications both internally and externally.</li></ul><br />Estimating:<ul>Assist with generating budget estimates along with scope definition from incomplete design information.</li>Assist in the development and maintenance of a preliminary estimating method, format and process that meets our preliminary estimating goals. </li>Update preliminary estimates until final design is complete. </li>Update and maintain database of estimating information from past projects. </li></ul><br />Critical Path Schedule Items:<ul>Assist the Project Manager for updates to the project schedule until preconstruction ends. </li></ul>Marketing: <ul>Develop and foster effective relationships with clients who possess decision making authority.</li>Take support role in marketing of design-assist and design-build projects as coordinated with regional leadership.</li>Participate in the development of marketing materials that will aid in business development.</li></ul><br />
Requirements: <ul>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Construction Science, or Engineering preferred.Equivalent technical training and related experience will be considered.</ul> <br />Experience: <ul>Preferred 0 to 5 years technical or administrative experience in HVAC, piping, and plumbing at a commercial, industrial, or institutional level.</ul> <br />Knowledge, skills, and abilities: <ul> <ul>Knowledge of construction engineering technology, processes, and standards.</ul> </ul> <br /> <ul> <ul>Team orientation and collaborative spirit.</ul> </ul> <br /> <ul> <ul>Self-motivation: ability to drive results.</ul> </ul> <br /> <ul> <ul>Effective communication skills.</ul> </ul> <br /> <ul> <ul>Ability to develop and foster strong professional relationships.</ul> </ul> <br /> <ul> <ul>Basic level of business acumen.</ul> </ul> <br /> <ul>Ability to proactively identify potential problems and their solutions.</ul> <br />Benefits and Compensation: <ul>The range for this position has been established at $64,960 to $91,756 and is US Engineering&rsquo;s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting.
