Overview: The Project Controls Coordinator is an entry-level position in the Project Controls department and is one who assists one or more Project Controls Managers with various project controls functions such as project schedule development, critical path method (CPM) analysis, obtaining/preparing schedule progress updates, and creating associated informational reports for engineering, project development, and construction needs.&nbsp; The role collaborates with Project Managers, Project Controls staff, and field personnel to ensure timely and accurate reporting of project performance, while gaining exposure to advanced project controls methodologies.
Responsibilities: <ul><li>Assist with updating and maintaining project schedule information such as progress, manpower budgets, and project performance necessary to fulfill individual project needs.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of specialty schedules, project labor forecasts, and/or cash flows reports.</li><li>Assist with loading of budgeted resource data into project schedules when necessary.</li><li>Assist with analyzing trends and variances in resource and schedule performance against the baseline estimate and schedule.</li><li>Assist Project Manager’s with model-based estimation on projects.</li><li>Assist Project Manager’s with completing labor progress updates and gathering data to support earned value management.</li><li>Assist with compiling schedule reports on a periodic basis necessary to fulfill individual project needs.</li><li>Understand and comply with any necessary work breakdown structures (WBS), code structures, and/or schedule formats necessary to fulfill individual project requirements.</li><li>Attend project meetings and record key updates impacting project timelines and resource plans.</li><li>Attend project management and/or project development meetings as needed.</li><li>Engage other duties as assigned.</li></ul><br />Job Scope: <br />The Project Controls Coordinator should possess the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a dynamic construction environment. This role is a learning opportunity with high exposure to complex mechanical contracting projects.<br /><br />
Requirements: Education &amp; Experience: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Construction Management, Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred OR Actuarial Science or Computer Science OR Equivalent combination of field (e.g. pipefitter/plumber) and leadership experience may be considered.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems and familiarity with various business sectors of mechanical contracting involving various project contract delivery methods.</li> <li>Familiarity with the management, control, forecasting, and trending of various types of budgets.</li> <li>Familiarity with project scheduling software platforms like Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project.</li> <li>Must have general computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Outlook, Excel &amp; Word); experience with Power BI or dashboard tools is a plus</li> </ul> <br />Knowledge, skills, and abilities: <ul> <li>Strategic thinking and effective problem-solving skills. Keeps &ldquo;One Company&rdquo; focus.</li> <li>Effective communications skills including the ability to articulate a message both verbally and written, to be persuasive, and explain a position to various target audiences.</li> <li>Be a good team player, as job information will come from a variety of sources.</li> <li>Time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.</li> <li>Ability to adapt effectively to changing priorities and deliver results.</li> <li>Entry level financial understanding of project budgets / performance.</li> <li>Must be willing to participate in on-going continuing education and the pursuit of appropriate credentials beneficial to the overall competency of the company.</li> </ul> <br />Physical and/or travel demands: <ul> <li>Work will be done in a combination of home office and job site environments.</li> <li>Project needs may require travel, temporary assignment, or relocation.</li> <li>Physical demands include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting. Positions include sitting and standing, use of telephone, keyboard, and computer monitor.</li> </ul> <br />Benefits and compensation:<br /> <ul> <li>The range for this position has been established at $64,960.00 - $91,756.00 and is US Engineering good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.</li> <li>Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your pay check. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off.
