Overview: The Payroll Administrator ensures accurate and timely union payroll processing using accounting and HR systems, while providing excellent customer service.&nbsp;<br />
Responsibilities: <div> <ul> <li>Primary responsibility for weekly union payroll processing.</li> <li>Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of payroll and all other sensitive data.</li> <li>Assist in generating and distributing analytics related to controlled insurance programs (CIPs), certified payroll, and union benefits.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain union wage rates.</li> <li>Monitor the efficiency of payroll workflows and communications; implement steps to improve as necessary.</li> <li>Participate in employee on-boarding and off-boarding record keeping, and update employee payroll information as needed.</li> <li>Respond to payroll questions and other related requests professionally, in a timely and accurate.</li> <li>Process payments of union fringes, taxes, and employee benefits.</li> <li>Assist HR with employee maintenance, including I-9 reporting, electronic timecards, and responding to requests for employment verifications.</li> <li>Assist with W2 preparation.</li> <li>Assist with special projects as needed.</li> </ul> </div>
Requirements: <strong>Education:</strong> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED) required.</li> <li>College-level or business school accounting courses are a plus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Experience:</strong> <ul> <li>At least 1 year of experience administering payroll required.</li> <li>Previous experience with union payroll is preferred.</li> <li>Experience within the service industry is preferred.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Knowledge, skills, and abilities:</strong> <ul> <li>Ability to understand and contribute positively to the company&rsquo;s cultural norms.</li> <li>Excellent customer service skills.</li> <li>Positive team mindset &ndash; professional maturity and adaptability to help the team.</li> <li>Focused results and meeting deadlines &ndash; demonstrate a sense of urgency as required.</li> <li>Good understanding of union agreements and fringe benefits.</li> <li>Good organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.</li> <li>Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.</li> <li>Proficient in knowledge and application of payroll concepts, laws, and contractual issues.</li> <li>Intermediate proficiency with Word and Outlook; Advanced proficiency with Excel.</li> <li>Must be able to maintain crucial deadlines and prioritize.</li> <li>General acumen with numbers and basic mathematics.</li> <li>Ability to adapt to changing priorities and excel in a fast-paced work environment that includes frequent interruptions.</li> <li>Proficiency in 10-key and data entry.</li> <li>Working knowledge of computer operations and experience with accounting systems.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Physical and/or Travel demands:&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong> <ul> <li>Frequent use of a computer, including keyboarding, viewing the monitor, etc.</li> <li>Travel as required to conferences and continuing education.</li> <li>Occasional day trips between construction job sites, offices, and manufacturing facilities.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Benefits and Compensation:</strong> <ul> <li>The range for this position has been established at $23.50 to $33.00 per hour and is U.S. Engineering&rsquo;s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.</li> <li>Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck.
