We take this responsibility seriously, which drives our commitment to innovation and to redefining how construction and facility services are delivered.<br /><br />The Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing project- and campus-level safety, health, and environmental programs that support our core value: ensuring a safe working environment. This role also leads the development of safety standards, training programs, compliance monitoring, and employee recognition initiatives.
Responsibilities: <ul><li>Stay current on construction industry safety standards and continuously monitor corporate safety programs to ensure best practices.</li><li>Provide leadership, administrative oversight, and technical guidance on all corporate safety and health programs, procedures, and policies; advise project leadership on safety-related matters.</li><li>Direct project and campus safety efforts to ensure compliance with all safety programs, procedures, and policies.</li><li>Collaborate with project management to guide Field Safety Coordinators and field personnel, including staffing and administrative functions.</li><li>Support the corporate safety committee in achieving strategic safety goals.</li><li>Design and implement safety recognition programs that reinforce safe behaviors and communicate safety performance.</li><li>Develop and deliver safety training programs, including new employee orientation and ongoing topic-specific training.</li><li>Identify and mitigate hazardous conditions and unsafe behaviors in partnership with operations leaders.</li><li>Conduct proactive jobsite inspections and produce detailed reports.</li><li>Develop and implement project-specific Crisis Management Plans, including training and communication.</li><li>Investigate all safety incidents thoroughly, document findings, and communicate outcomes per corporate procedures.</li><li>Partner with Corporate Risk Management to reduce liability and workers’ compensation costs.</li><li>Manage return-to-work programs and identify appropriate modified duties for injured employees.</li><li>Represent the company in safety-related hearings (e.g., OSHA).</li><li>Participate in pre-construction and procurement phases to develop site-specific safety plans and required training.</li><li>Oversee procurement and approval of safety supplies, PPE, and program-related expenses.</li><li>Ensure all safety records and reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time; implement corrective actions as needed.</li><li>Accompany safety, health, and insurance inspectors during site visits and support citation response/appeals.</li><li>Administer drug and alcohol testing programs for assigned projects.</li><li>Serve as the primary client contact for project-related safety matters.</li></ul>Management Responsibility: <br />Supervisor – responsible for hiring, performance management and pay administration for subordinates. <br /><br />
Requirements: Education &amp; Experience: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and industry experience.Experience</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in the construction industry or a related field.</li> <li>Prior supervisory experience preferred, including oversight of safety training programs.</li> </ul> Knowledge, skills, and abilities: <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local construction safety regulations.</li> <li>Understanding of mechanical construction practices and processes.</li> <li>Ability to identify hazards and implement effective corrective actions.</li> <li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated diplomacy, influence, and sound judgment.</li> <li>Ability to assess organizational safety performance and drive continuous improvement.</li> <li>Experience designing and delivering effective training programs.</li> <li>Strong relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization and with external partners.</li> <li>Excellent time management, organization, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.</li> </ul> Physical and/or travel demands:&nbsp;&nbsp; <ul> <li>Work is performed in both office and active construction site environments.</li> <li>Regular travel to local and regional job sites is required.</li> <li>Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.</li> <li>Physical requirements include walking uneven terrain, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting, and prolonged sitting or standing.</li> </ul> Benefits and Compensation: <ul> <li>The range for this position has been established at $90,480.00 - $127,800.00 per year&nbsp;and is US Engineering&rsquo;s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.</li> <li>Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck.
