Overview: The Non-Profit Principal possesses the ability to assume full responsibility for directing engagements and special assignments and has the enhanced capability of supervising a number of engagements simultaneously. The Non-Profit Principal oversees the performance of client service and all related activity. The Non-Profit Principal can perform all tasks related to client service and sees that assignments are accomplished by the engagement team within the budgeted time. This role takes on responsibility for the professional and technical development of the staff through on-the-job-interaction and leading in-house training. Additionally, Non-Profit Principal has begun to develop a list of potential referral sources in an effort to bring new business to the firm and is involved in community activities for the purposes of business development and cross-selling the firm’s services. The Non-Profit Principal should be developing expertise in one or more specific industry areas.
Responsibilities: 1. Experience with A133 audits and 990 2. Ability to develop different programs 3. Supervise and coordinate audit activities of staff 4. Provide thorough review of staff work product while providing appropriate feedback 5. Calculate appropriate budgets and manage actual time in relation to budgets 6. Develop client presentations and participate in bids for opportunities for new clients 7. Assist in the preparation of management reports and other statutory filings 8. Develop ideas to assist client with operational and internal control opportunities 9. Examine and analyze client accounting records to determine financial status and prepare financial statements 10. Inspect items in clients accounting system to determine if GAAP was followed in recording transactions 11. Make formal recommendations when applicable regarding imposing operations and financial positions of clients 12. Develop relationships with clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities 13. Develop strong technical research skills, including use of electronic tools 14. Other duties as assigned
Requirements: 1. Bachelors in Accounting, Masters preferred 2. 8 plus years in relevant position, auditing Non-Profit clients 3. Must have CPA License 4. Public accounting or other professional services environment preferred 5. Must maintain required CPE credits annually 6. May need other industry or specialization certification for specific positions
