Overview: The Associate is deeply involved in all aspects of the M&A process from client development to transaction closing. Associates are responsible for overseeing Analysts on project teams and providing senior M&A professionals with support and various deal materials.
Responsibilities: 1. Participate meaningfully in all aspects of transaction development and execution 2. Develop and present analyses and presentations in client and prospect meetings 3. Identify strategic and financial buyers and sellers 4. Participate in M&A strategy development discussions 5. Draft information memoranda and management presentations 6. Coordinate and support due diligence 7. Build detailed and accurate financial models, including DCF, LBO, comparable transaction and guideline company analysis 8. Monitor relevant transactions, capital market trends, company financial statements, industry, regulatory, and other economic information 9. Mentor and develop staff (Analysts)
Requirements: *This position requires a B.A. / B.S. degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or similar concentration. *Any FINRA licenses, CFA charters, and other industry-specific designations is a plus. *Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity, or transaction services *Big 4 and/or middle market experience is highly preferred *Demonstrable M&A or restructuring execution experience *Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and CapitalIQ *Strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, and financial statements *Ability to multitask and manage time effectively *Ability to manage and mentor junior professionals *Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills *Superior written and oral communication skills (ability to relay critical issues to senior professionals concisely) *Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct *Series 79 & 63 Preferred Education
