Overview: <p>The Fixed Asset Accountant assists in the general accounting of all assets and plays a role in the tax and accounting departments.&nbsp; This role is contributes to the accounting and audit support in all areas related to fixed assets and personal property taxes.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Fixed Asset Accountant assists in maintaining the books and records for all fixed assets, timely completion of month-end accounting as it relates to fixed assets, lease to own transactions, the tax treatment of assets, and all reporting functions.&nbsp; This position promotes self-direction and independent thought and decision-making to ensure that best practices are used in obtaining and reporting accurately at all times.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Job Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li>Recording all asset related transactions, including: <ul> <li>Acquisitions</li> <li>Dispositions</li> <li>Contractor lease transactions from inception to disposition</li> <li>Calculating monthly depreciation</li> <li>Capitalizing repairs as appropriate</li> <li>Asset locations and transfers</li> <li>General Ledger reconciliation of all fixed asset and depreciation accounts</li> </ul> </li> <li>Fixed asset reporting: <ul> <li>Weekly reports</li> <li>Monthly reports</li> <li>Quarterly reports</li> <li>Annual reports</li> <li>Tax reports</li> <li>Ad hoc reporting</li> <li>AOP Calculation Support</li> <li>Statement of Cash Flows Support</li> </ul> </li> <li>All aspects of fixed asset tracking</li> <li>Research and analyze unique transactions and situations</li> <li>Building relationships with the accounting and operations teams to provide useful and timely information</li> <li>Identify trends to take advantage of opportunities or minimize risks</li> <li>Analyze data from all sources and communicate as necessary.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Skills Required </strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong core computer skills such as Microsoft excel, word, and outlook.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations.</li> <li>Ability to solve problems and think quickly under pressure.</li> <li>Effective oral and written communication skills</li> <li>Process improvement leader</li> <li>Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.</li> <li>Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines</li> <li>Proficiency in accounting programs a plus (FAS, MAS etc.)</li> <li>Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration/ CPA preferred</li> <li>1 years related experience</li> <li>Strong skill base and comfort with technology including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and accounting systems.</li> </ul>
