Full-Time

Overview: <ul> <li>Attorney will maintain a caseload of clients and will represent clients in focus practice areas, as defined from time to time.</li> <li>Representation of clients which includes giving advice, drafting documents, making court&nbsp;appearances, consulting with clients, negotiating settlements and whatever else is necessary to&nbsp;provide the clients with the legal services they need.</li> <li>Return new client calls and give telephone advice if appropriate.</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Maintain accurate time sheets to record time spent on client matters; review and correct billings&nbsp;as needed.</li> <li>In conjunction with supervisor, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program in&nbsp;meeting participant needs and agency and funder requirements so that funder standards are&nbsp;maintained.</li> <li>Complete and maintain timely and accurate reports so that program information is available as<br />needed and agency and funder guidelines are met.</li> <li>Market and promote services to referral sources, community professionals, prospective&nbsp;participants, family members, and others so that the community is knowledgeable about the&nbsp;program, and the program can grow.</li> <li>Stay current on laws affecting practice areas, including attending Continuing Legal Education&nbsp;classes to maintain licensure.</li> <li>Join professional organizations and take advantage of networking opportunities.</li> <li>Perform public outreach and education.</li> <li>Carry our activities in a manner that recognizes, understands, and respects cultural differences in&nbsp;individuals.</li> <li>Follow all standards of professional conduct when representing clients.</li> <li>Assures program participant privacy is maintained by being knowledgeable and following&nbsp;HIPAA privacy and security regulations.</li> <li>Work as many hours as needed to complete the job.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>A license to practice law in the state of Minnesota (required)</li> <li>2-3 Years of Elder Law Practice (Preferred)&nbsp;</li> </ul>
