Responsibilities: <p><strong>How you will make an impact:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Practice safe, patient-centered, nursing across all aspects of the process: Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.</li> <li>Provide care in a compassionate and caring manner within a diverse cultural environment, ensuring patient safety and physiological and psychological well-being, associated with creating a therapeutic relationship and environment.</li> <li>Adhere strictly to infection control and prevention measures.</li> <li>Respond to emergency situations by recognizing changes in patient's health status and consulting appropriately when necessary using Transfer of Accountability principles.</li> <li>Provide health teaching to patients and families including thorough discharge instructions to ensure the continuity of care in the community.</li> <li>Contribute to our exemplary clinical practice as part of an inter-professional team and develop appropriate strategies for patient care.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>The education and certification.</strong> Current good standing status or eligibility for registration, with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current Ontario Certificate of Competence, BScN or equivalent. BCLS and Nursing Assessment course preferred.</li> <li><strong>The practical knowledge.</strong> You have exceptional skills demonstrating your ability to prioritize patient care needs, conduct a swift and accurate physical assessment, make autonomous decisions, and contribute to a care plan. Ideally, you have hospital experience with exposure to a Respirology unit including knowledge of:&nbsp; <ul> <li>COPD, inhaler, and nebulizer therapy.</li> <li>Caring for patients with TPN, NG Tubes, Chest Tubes, Tracheostomy, Enteral Feeds.</li> <li>I.V. therapy, blood collection, and isolation, within the last 2 years, preferred.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>The compassion, communication, and relationship-building skills.</strong> <ul> <li>Passion for helping others and playing a key role in the health and well-being of your community members.</li> <li>Willingness to follow directives and help where needed.</li> <li>An ability to thrive in a collaborative practice model as part of - and with - multi-disciplinary teams.</li> <li>Excellence in decision-making and critical thinking.</li> <li>Flexibility and the ability to pivot in a rapidly changing environment.</li> <li>Exceptional verbal, comprehension, and written skills in English.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>The flexibility. </strong>You are available for 8-12 hour day, night, weekend, or holiday shifts and can make a 6-8 month commitment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Your community thanks you for considering this role.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Apply now.
