<strong>Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.</strong> <br /><br />Each day, YBGR&rsquo;s employees work with close to 1200 youth throughout Montana who struggle with controlling emotions and behaviors. Overview: At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, we count on our Mental Health Workers to support a trauma-informed environment, facilitate, and supervise day-to-day activities of residential programming such as recreational activities, completion of basic living and social skills while assuring the safety of the youth. They serve as a positive role model and mentor to adolescents in treatment. A Mental Health Worker will possess a strong work ethic, reliability, and a desire to help youth with complex emotional and behavioral issues. They should have a passion for this field and be a positive role model and influence the youth.
Responsibilities: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Implement treatment programming and provide feedback for each child in the unit.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Maintain a positive, safe, and therapeutic milieu in the treatment unit. Supervise youth at all times while teaching them coping and daily living skills.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Complete proper treatment documentation on time and consistent with YBGR policies.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Serve as a liaison to families and agencies responsible for youth in the unit, always providing professional customer service. Responsible for weekly contacts with families/agencies, etc.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Serve as a support person in the therapeutic treatment procedures (recreational, educational, spiritual, social, medical, etc.) assigned by the Program Manager.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Design and implement psycho-educational groups to increase clients' knowledge and skills.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Responsible/accountable to the treatment team and YBGR for overall program needs.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">21 years old or older.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Criminal/Child Abuse Clearance:<em class="ignore-global-css">&nbsp;</em>Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">High School Diploma or GED.</span></li> </ul> <br /> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">Required Abilities/Skills:<br /><br /></strong></span></p> <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Empathy and Compassion: Ability to empathize with the struggles and emotions of youth experiencing mental health challenges, and to provide compassionate care.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with youth, their families, and other members of the treatment team to facilitate treatment and support plans.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Boundaries and Professionalism: Understanding of professional boundaries and ethical guidelines in mental health care, including maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient autonomy.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Documentation Skills: Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of youth&rsquo;s interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with YBGR requirements.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others.
