<strong>Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.</strong> <br /><br />Each day, YBGR&rsquo;s employees work with close to 1200 youth throughout Montana who struggle with controlling emotions and behaviors. YBGR has impacted more than 10,000 youth and their families since 1957 through Residential Services in Billings, Community Based Services throughout Montana, and the Yellowstone Academy in Billings. https://www.ybgr.org/

Overview: Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Home Support Services Specialists play a crucial role in fostering the social, emotional, and physical well-being of youth, enabling them to flourish in their surroundings. Working closely with team members and families, Home Support Specialists deliver personalized in-home support and interventions, empowering youth to thrive and excel within their homes, schools, and communities.
Responsibilities: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Identify the needs of the youth and the family and provide intervention that positively benefits the family system.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Develop individualized intervention planning based on assessments and incorporate evidence-based strategies.&nbsp;</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Provide direct care for youth in school, home, and community settings.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Collaborate with teams, supervisors, educators, community partners and families to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans and supporting youth&rsquo;s complex needs.&nbsp;</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Create and conduct necessary documentation accurately and maintain documentation expectations in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization, both individually and as a team member.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Deal constructively and helpfully with all other members of the organization.&nbsp;</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Fully support and model the mission and values of YBGR.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Adhere to all policies, systems, safety requirements, and procedures of the organization.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Take the initiative to identify problems and seek out solutions.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Be a professional representative of the organization to those outside it.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Participate and engage in monthly supervision/coaching meetings with the supervisor.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Be aware of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the persons served.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Participate in required training as appropriate to the position and beneficial to YBGR.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Other duties as assigned.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">21 years old or older.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Criminal/Child Abuse Clearance:<em class="ignore-global-css">&nbsp;</em>Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in human services, Social Work, or a related field. A combination of previous professional experience and formal education from an accredited university may be considered in lieu of degree. Six years of human services experience equates to a Bachelor's degree, and each year of post-secondary education in human services equates to one year of experience.</span></li> </ul> <br /> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">Required Abilities/Skills:<br /><br /></strong></span></p> <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Ability to relate and build rapport with youth and families therapeutically while serving as a positive role model.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Knowledge of and ability to maintain professional therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality with youth and families.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Possess the ability to work with youth and families in multiple settings, such as individually and in groups.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others. These skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships, collaborating with colleagues, resolving conflicts, and navigating various social situations.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Ability to communicate effectively through both verbal and written communications so that communications are clear, concise, and complete in their composition of thought and lacks obvious errors with grammar and spelling.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Display regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Excellent active listening skills.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">The ability to complete forms within an electronic Medical Health Record System typing at least 35 words per minute while using a keyboard and mouse (Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 products is a plus).</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrate sound &amp; ethical judgment and decision-making skills.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others.
