<strong>Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.</strong> <br /><br />Each day, YBGR&rsquo;s employees work with close to 1200 youth throughout Montana who struggle with controlling emotions and behaviors. YBGR has impacted more than 10,000 youth and their families since 1957 through Residential Services in Billings, Community Based Services throughout Montana, and the Yellowstone Academy in Billings. https://www.ybgr.org/

Overview: Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Therapeutic Youth Mentor provides direct support, guidance, and mentoring to help youth develop coping skills, improve communication, and build positive relationships. Therapeutic youth mentors are role models that facilitate activities and work collaboratively with other team members to assist youth in reaching their goals.<br /> <br />
Responsibilities: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to engage a diverse group of participants. </span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently. </span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Ability to exercise and model good judgment, teamwork, and professionalism, especially in crisis situations and creative about finding solutions for them. </span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Collaborate with teams, supervisors, educators, community partners and families to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans and supporting youth&rsquo;s complex needs. </span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Create and conduct necessary documentation accurately and able maintain documentation expectations in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>21 years old or older</li> <li>Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.</li> <li>High School Diploma or GED</li> <li>Driver&rsquo;s License to operate passenger vehicle.</li> </ul> <strong>Required Abilities/Skills</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Ability to relate and build rapport with youth therapeutically while serving as a positive role model..</li> <li>Knowledge of and ability to maintain professional therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality with youth and families.</li> <li>Possess the ability to work with youth in multiple settings, such as individually and in groups.</li> <li>Ability to work in cooperation and collaboration with the treatment team.</li> <li>Ability to work 1:1 with youth, independent of other co-workers.</li> <li>Display regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work.</li> <li>Excellent active listening skills</li> <li>The ability to complete forms within an electronic Medical Health Record System typing at least 35 words per minute while using a keyboard and mouse. (Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 products is a plus.)</li> <li>Demonstrate sound &amp; ethical judgment and decision-making skills.</li> <li>Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking.</li> <li>Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.</li> <li>The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others.
