<strong>Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.</strong> <br /><br />Each day, YBGR&rsquo;s employees work with close to 1200 youth throughout Montana who struggle with controlling emotions and behaviors. Overview: <p>Yellowstone Academy is seeking a qualified&nbsp;<strong>Broadfield Science Teacher</strong>&nbsp;dedicated to working with a diverse student population in need of consistency, structure, and emotional support.</p> <p>The Broadfield Science Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction aligned with&nbsp;<strong>Montana Office of Public Instruction (OPI) Science Standards</strong>. This position plays a vital role in helping students develop scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of the natural world through inquiry-based learning and real-world applications.</p> <p>Classes are intentionally small (up to 10 students), allowing for individualized instruction and meaningful connections. Yellowstone Academy utilizes a relationship-based approach to education, supported by strong collaboration among academic, residential, clinical, and support staff. Teachers benefit from consistent staff support and a team-oriented environment focused on student success.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop lesson plans, implement curriculum, and monitor student progress. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Teach science courses such as: <ul> <li>Physical Science</li> <li>Earth Science</li> <li>Life Science</li> <li>Biology</li> <li>Environmental Science</li> <li>General Science</li> </ul> </li> <li>Align curriculum with Montana OPI Science Standards.</li> <li>Develop engaging, inquiry-based lessons that promote critical thinking and scientific reasoning.</li> <li>Incorporate laboratory investigations, demonstrations, technology, and hands-on learning experiences whenever appropriate.</li> <li>Support and monitor students using online learning platforms for credit recovery and elective coursework.</li> <li>Provide academic support and progress monitoring for students completing online courses.</li> <li>Maintain accurate student records and comply with state reporting requirements.</li> <li>Collaborate with academic, residential, clinical, and support staff to support individualized student plans.</li> </ul>
