Creates new business through marketing networking in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strenght and compliance goals. Provides encouragement, sets high expectations and sets proud and positive examples necessary to ensure a fun, exciting and professional working environment for our staff and a pleasant and entertaining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Follow up on inquiries from internal/external guests on catering room needs.</li> <li>Book functions and handle menu planning, room setup, and special guest needs.</li> <li>Oversee the proper execution of all catering events.</li> <li>Coordinate with pertinent departments for event needs.</li> <li>Bill charges to appropriate departments/guests.</li> <li>Provide upcoming events and distribute to necessary departments.</li> <li>Develop and monitor departmental budget.</li> <li>Order supplies.</li> <li>Submit event notices to Director of Food &amp; Beverage.</li> <li>Receive sales leads and inquiries about meeting space.</li> <li>Prepare contracts and follow up with clients for payment.</li> <li>Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.</li> <li>Adhere to corporate and local policies, procedures, and guidelines.</li> <li>Assist in maintaining food and beverage costs.</li> <li>Ensure employee adherence to company standards.</li> <li>Conduct interviews, assignments, motivation, evaluations, and management of staff.</li> <li>Maintain personnel performance records and monitor staffing levels.</li> <li>Requisition supplies and maintain adequate levels.</li> <li>Review financial transactions and monitor budget.</li> <li>Practice food and beverage handling procedures for guest safety.</li> <li>Supervise other outlets as necessary.</li> <li>Monitor ballroom conditions and maintenance.</li> <li>Demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior.</li> <li>Recruit, hire, and train to maintain staffing levels.</li> <li>Supervise hourly staff and recommend employee decisions.</li> <li>Estimate and requisition needed items for staff.</li> <li>Perform other assigned duties.</li> </ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise front-of-house banquet staff.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.</li> <li>High school diploma or G.E.D required.</li> <li>Bachelor's degree from four-year university/college preferred.</li> <li>3 to 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> <li>Intermediate computer skills required.</li> <li>Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.</li> <li>Must qualify for licensing with the New Mexico Racing Commission.</li> <li>Must qualify for certification through NMAST.</li> <li>Position requires scheduling flexibility, including weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, and overtime based on business needs.</li> <li>Ability to read, write, and speak English required.</li> <li>Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required.</li> <li>Ability to work as part of a team and promote a cooperative approach between departments.</li> <li>Ability to work unsupervised.</li> </ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and standing for long periods of time.</li> <li>Walking and/or standing 70% of the time.</li> <li>Lifting from 75 to 100 pounds to stack, store, or move materials, supplies, and equipment.</li> <li>Pushing and pulling carts and equipment weighing 100 pounds.</li> </ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Mostly works indoors with exposure to airborne particles, toxic fumes, and/or chemicals.</li> <li>Loud noise level in the work environment.</li> <li>Exposure to bright lighting.</li> <li>Exposure to unrestricted second-hand smoke.</li> </ul> <br /> <h2 class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job">STAY IN THE GAME.
