Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Provides live verbal record of races indicating name of horse, rider, lengths behind and any other descriptors for benefit of general public and simulcast audience of Zia Park Racetrack Races.</li> <li>Provides general announcements to public.</li> <li>Conveys pertinent information such as scratches, changes and any other updates of racing information as directed by Mutuel department or stewards.</li> <li>Provides explanations of infractions occurring on racetrack and resultant disqualifications.</li> <li>Provides on-air pre- and post-race commentary on horses and participants in races including interviews with race participants.</li> <li>Coordinate with audio-visual department in developing content for daily simulcast presentation.</li> <li>Assists in coordinating needs for general or racing related media or promotional events before, during or after races.</li> <li>May require work during non-racing hours.</li> </ul> <br /><br />This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and team members may also be asked to perform other reasonable related duties as assigned. Requirements: <ul> <li>Must be 21 years of age.</li> <li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li> <li>Read, write legibly, understand and speak English.</li> <li>Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word).</li> <li>Must be licensed with New Mexico Racing Commission.</li> <li>Excellent customer service/communication skills.</li> <li>Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.</li> <li>Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS </strong><br /><br />Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
