Overview: The Software Engineer-Master Data creates high-quality, innovative, and fully functional software solutions that adheres to coding standards and technical design. This role will research, design, develop and implement new software solutions in addition to enhancing existing software capabilities. This role will also collaborate with other Squad members, stakeholders and the Product team to ensure that products meet business, functional, and technical requirements and are scalable in nature. This will include translating business and technical requirements into well engineered, tested, and deployed technology solutions by gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, and writing code in various languages. The Software Engineer-Master Data will have the ability to take on smaller projects from start to finish, work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors and trace issues to their source. They will develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.<br /><br />Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD and Mauldin, SC. <br /><br />Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop the technical design for solutions based on the defined scope, requirements, and functional design provided by the Product team and other stakeholders.</li> <li>Build and configure technical components (interfaces, conversions, reports, workflows) so that solution design meets business needs and solution architecture standards.</li> <li>Write and document programming code to meet the gathered requirements.</li> <li>Deliver solutions through ERP or SaaS solutions (e.g. STIBO STEP MDM, IBM Infosphere MDM, SAP, Manhattan Active WM, Relex).</li> <li>Perform code reviews and quality assurance to ensure compliance to technical standards and business requirements.</li> <li>Collaborate with Squad to support the Product team to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria.</li> <li>Prepare development and test environments, conduct test readiness to proceed with testing, and collaborate with to execute testing.</li> <li>Fix bugs identified during quality assurance and testing.</li> <li>Continuously reduce technical debt (e.g., create technical debt stories, remove bugs) and decommission legacy applications and solutions.</li> <li>Perform updates and enhancements to the solution, as needed.</li> <li>Release software into production and perform release testing (system integration, mock conversion, parallel, regression, performance and stress, infrastructure).</li> <li>Participates in initiatives for improving way of working in teams and in eliminating technical debt.</li> <li>Develops solutions to moderately complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplines.</li> <li>Communicates with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.</li> <li>Works to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.</li> <li>Delivers high quality work in cross-functional team environments - at times taking on additional technical assessments and responsibilities.</li> <li>Contributes and at times leads positive and collaborative solution brainstorming and delivery.</li> <li>Has strong self-led work drive and accountability as well as a growing ability to lead team assessments and discussions to achieve assignments (agile, or bimodal).</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Technical field; equivalent trainings/certifications/experience equivalency will be considered.</li> <li>3 or more years of equivalent experience in relevant job or field of technology.</li> <li>Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer.</li> <li>Experience implementing E2E Master Data Management (MDM) solution.</li> <li>Ability to develop software in Java, Cobol, Python, C#, ColdFusion, C++, or other programming languages.</li> <li>Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).</li> <li>Experience developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (e.g. Angular, Ruby, Django, Spring, Express).</li> <li>Experience designing interactive applications.</li> <li>Experience with test-driven development.</li> <li>Ability to document requirements and specifications.</li> <li>Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.</li> <li>Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase.</li> <li>Skills: Programming, Testing, Analytical Thinking, Agile Development, Problem Solving, Cybersecurity Risk Management, Data Privacy, Application Security, Technical Troubleshooting.</li> <li>Experience working in agile squads.</li> </ul> <strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong> <br /> <ul> <li>Masters Degree in relevant field of study preferred, Additional trainings or certifications in relevant field of study preferred.</li> <li>Experience in Agile teams and or Product/Platform based operating model.</li> <li>Experience in retail or grocery preferred.</li> </ul> At Ahold Delhaize USA, we provide services to one of the largest portfolios of grocery companies in the nation, and we're actively seeking top talent.
