Overview: The Manager, Data Science will lead a team focused on delivering business insights using data science expertise/techniques/tools that materially improve critical decisions by senior management and drive the business mission/strategy forward. They will provide effective leadership and hands-on, practical executional guidance to a specialized analytical team. While most projects focus on marketing, merchandising, or customer analytics, projects range across the org.<br /><br />Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA. <br /><br />Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Provide ongoing leadership to a strong, capable team that meets or exceeds the company's Data Science requirements</li> <li>Develop and train team of Data Scientists to create quality models, ensuring outputs are logical and actionable</li> <li>Provide ongoing counsel to Brand strategy, Marketing and Merchandising Leadership and other key decision makers regarding proper interpretation and application of model output</li> <li>Provide input and significantly influence the development and refinement of company strategies</li> <li>Lead the development and deployment of customer segmentations, scores, store clustering and other KPI models to predict the impact of potential actions or programs being considered</li> <li>Lead innovation in data science methodologies and tools, staying abreast of industry developments and proactively exploring opportunities to advance organizational capabilities</li> <li>Develop strong relationships that enable learning about the business and how their work directly impacts decisions. For specific projects, draw out critical information that impacts the learning objectives and incorporate into all work</li> <li>Identification of additional data requirements and partner with the data domain owners to collect and organize new data elements</li> <li>Maintain proficiency with major business systems and the data on which it relies</li> <li>Subject matter expert on methodologies and data sources used in modeling environment. &bull; Ability to analyze data via statistical and machine learning concepts, and present recommendations based on that data</li> <li>Partner closely with other team members within Data Science to ensure appropriate integration of data</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Programming Languages - SQL, Python, Spark</li> <li>Strong foundation in statistics and machine learning</li> <li>Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle and Agile project management</li> <li>Master's Degree in Quantitative Field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, etc)</li> <li>6+ years experience in Data Science</li> <li>2+ years managing an Analytics team</li> </ul> <strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong> <br /> <ul> <li>Databricks</li> <li>Proficient in Power Bi &amp; Tableau</li> <li>Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle and Agile project management</li> <li>3+ years experience with deploying production level models, preferably time-series models</li> </ul> <br /><br />Salary Range: $115,760 / $144,700 / $173,640
