Overview: The&nbsp;<strong>IT Engineer IV Software&nbsp;</strong>will be a&nbsp;<strong>Databricks Subject Matter Expert</strong>. They will be responsible for engineering, architecting, and delivering world-class solutions for our customers, producing enterprise standard implementations leveraging the platform's full capabilities, and guiding developers to deliver high-quality solutions on MuleSoft. This role will research, design, develop and implement new software in addition to enhancing existing software capabilities. This role will work on various, ambiguous and complex issues, where analysis of situations or data requires an in- depth evaluation of variable factors, thorough understanding of the business strategy, operations, markets and key stakeholders. This role will also collaborate with other Squad members, stakeholders and the Product team to ensure that products meet business, functional, and technical requirements and are scalable in nature. This will include translating business and technical requirements into well engineered, tested, and deployed technology solutions by gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, and writing code in various languages. The Lead Software Engineer can significantly impact a project both as individual technical contributor, technical leader and mentor to more junior Engineers.<br /><br />Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA.<br /><br />Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop the technical design for solutions based on the defined scope, requirements, and functional design provided by the Product team and other stakeholders.</li> <li>Build and configure technical components (interfaces, conversions, reports, workflows) so that solution design meets business needs and solution architecture standards.</li> <li>Write and document programming code to meet the gathered requirements.</li> <li>Perform code reviews and quality assurance to ensure compliance to technical standards and business requirements.</li> <li>Collaborate with Squad to support the Product team to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria.</li> <li>Prepare development and test environments, conduct test readiness to proceed with testing, and collaborate with to execute testing.</li> <li>Fix bugs identified during quality assurance and testing.</li> <li>Continuously reduce technical debt (e.g., create technical debt stories, remove bugs) and decommission legacy applications and solutions.</li> <li>Perform updates and enhancements to the solution, as needed.</li> <li>Release software into production and perform release testing (system integration, mock conversion, parallel, regression, performance and stress, infrastructure).</li> <li>Identifies opportunities and leads specific initiatives for improving way of working in teams and in eliminating technical debt.</li> <li>Develops solutions to highly complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplines.</li> <li>Communicates with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.</li> <li>Acts as a project/team leader regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.</li> <li>Responsible for coaching/mentoring junior engineers.</li> <li>Consistently delivers very high-quality work in cross-functional environments - seen as a consistent and high-performing technical leader among peers.</li> <li>Has a balanced approach to team empowerment and leadership driving successful brainstorming sessions and solid technical conclusions to work approaches while modeling self-accountability, continuous development and team contributions.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS or related (or equivalent related work experience).</li> <li>8 or more years of experience in relevant job or field of technology.</li> <li>Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Databricks.</li> <li>Expertise in some of the following: Azure Data Factory, Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Rest APIs.</li> <li>Experience, directly or indirectly, managing, guiding, training and onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities or skills.</li> <li>Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer.</li> <li>Experience designing interactive applications.</li> <li>Experience with test-driven development.</li> <li>Ability to document requirements and specifications.</li> <li>Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.</li> <li>Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in relevant field of study, Additional trainings or certifications in relevant field of study.</li> <li>Experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model.</li> <li>Experience in leading teams.</li> <li>Experience in retail or grocery preferred.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><br />Salary Range: $146,960 - $220,440<br /><br />Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
